• An example of what not doing what is needed

    This is an example of where the solution is obvious and yet nothing gets
    done.

    The existing tree is near the end of its life and could fall without
    warning. It was probably clear sometime ago that the tree was likely to fall sooner rather that later and would need to be cut down.

    The solution is simple, plant a replacement tree, or maybe two or three.
    Then by the time it was needed to cut the tree down the planted one would be ready to take its place.

    It is not clear who "what not" is, bit whoever they are what is needed
    is being done.

    Did you watch the video and see just how long those trees take to
    grow? Just when do you think they should have planted the replacement
    tree?

    Or did you think they should have cut the tree down before the rot got
    to the stage where it was dangerous? The initial precautions were
    probably reasonable at that time as well - sometimes rot only
    develops slowly.
