• A summary of one person experience with an EV

It is always good to sample, hear from some one's experience as it can be
    added to the other experiences.

The EV's have been around for long enough for the common ground truth to
settle from the newness of it all.

The expression Mugged by reality is a good one.

An article worth the time to read. EV's will survive as the esisting ones
are proof of concept. However the numbers on the road will certainly not be 100%. Get the right tool for the job as the saying goes.

Thanks for that Gordon. I suspect Australia has a better ratio of
charging stations to electric vehicles than New Zealand, but the
author does identify some of the significant issues: "I observed that
EVs were the perfect car for people who had mainly an inner-city,
urban-based existence who didn’t go into the country much and who had
the luxury of being able to charge their cars at home. All the ducks
needed to line up for it to work."

But the clincher is the final comment: "...I did one final check of
my car stats to find out how much I had saved in fuel costs across the
past 12 months. A grand total of 524 bucks, so $42 a month."

Hardly any saving at all really - $500 a year is just too trivial to
worry about. Having said that, there must be a reason why so many
taxis are Toyota Prius' - and now there are a few Tesla Ubers around.
I don't have the ability to charge at home, but I suspect my next car
    will be a hybrid . . .

More awful sarcasm. Will you ever learn to converse without abusing others?
