This is not a bad article. Covers the various points from several people and show that something nees to be done.

Interesting that Bruce Plested (Mainfreight founder) one of the richest
people in the country supports paying more tax, but says the super wealthy worry the government will "squander" the money raised.
I would have to agree with this. The question is How to stop this from happening, or what to spend it on?
"Labour government commissioned an Inland Revenue study of the nation's
311 wealthiest families. The study concluded the families paid an
effective tax rate of 9.4 percent - less than half of the 20.2 percent
rate the average New Zealander paid."
So the real wealthly paid approx half as much as as the average Kiwi. This
is a small % on a large amount which means it is a large amount of dollars. Adding insult to injury what about the other half of the non rich folks who were paying more than the 20.2% more than the super rich?
It does seem that some adjustment is required.
