The school bus routes have requirements one of which is distance to the
school. The cost of maintaining a route is not factor in whether or not it passes.
First. There are examples where the school children are far enough away from the school to be on a bus route. Follow your own rules is a good thing to
do.
Secondly, as the article points out the Government has a policy of getting
the attendence rate back up. Giving them an excuse not to attend school is
self defeating.
Third. The farmers are willing to help get the best solution for the country folk. Time to work together to get a good outcome, the win-win situation. A
bit of meet and greet along with some discussion and more listening will go along way to getting it sorted.
Finally. I am sure that there is not an unlimited budget and that this will
be needed to be taken into account.
