    I am a little surprised that you cited commentary on the Government's
    decision from DPF, rather than citing the announcement on which it is
    based, which is here:

    The Government is simply changing the parameters of funding made
    available to the Marsden Fund. Where did you get the notion that
    economics was excluded from Government investment? Certainly not
    through the Marsden Fund but possibly through a myriad of other
    channels.

    the rewards for donors have been stupidity - and the government seems
    to be keeping on doing it! It is all about the Economy, and the
    removal of it from grants to scientists and academics is nearly as bad
    as the government ignoring the financial impact of their policies and
    subsidies that are taking money away from production. The cuts to
    health spending are just being highlighted with the lying they are
    doing - thank goodness for auditors!

    Just make all the useless and woke university courses like sociology,
    peace studies, gender studies, ethinc studies, liberal arts etc (it's
    a very long list) horrendously expensive, and use the money paid in by
    the fools who sign up for such nonsense to subsidise the useful
    disciplines like physics, chemistry, medicine, electrical engineering,
    maths etc.
