Now the context of this (never mentioned) is that the migration from
of 20 DHB fiefdoms into a single nation-wide organisation has not so
far resulted in a streamlining of the non-medical workforce.
None of the roles eliminated are fore medical roles and it is
reasonable to expect that the move to regional structure of a
centralised organisation would result in this. Note that the NZ
Police have always operated on a similar structure, the equivalent
being having 20 separate Police Forces.
Note the use of an emotive graphic - a severed stethoscope - despite
the article covering non-medical staff. No small wonder that the MSM
are in a hole with trustworthiness.
