No wonder Kiwis are flocking back here.

The comparison is for 2023 (and dated February 2023 on the back page),
so it is based on the performance of the previous NZ government. New
Zealand was 7th in the world in 2013, and was 10th in 2022 and 2023.
We will doubtless lose ground for the 2024 and especially the 2025
index, as we will see reductions under Governance, Social Capital,
Economic Quality, Living Conditions, Health, and Natural Environment.
GDP per capita has already been badly affected by the current
government.
Prior to the current government being elected, they were able to say :
"New Zealand (10th) is the most prosperous country in East Asia and
Pacific, ranking 2nd in Social Capital and 6th in Governance globally.
New Zealand’s government is considered one of the most transparent and >reputable for parliamentary procedures. A strong anti-corruption
record and robust financing rules contribute to the country ranking
1st in the world for government integrity."
And unrelated to the Legatum Index, do you Tony have evidence that
"Kiwis are flocking back here."? News reports appear to be saying the >opposite.

Somehow the dates above do not seem to be correct - not clear what has
gone wrong . . . Tony appears to have posted his comments in 2016!
