• Welcome Our New Anti-Abortionist Health Minister

From Lawrence D'Oliveiro@21:1/5 to All on Thu Jan 30 01:36:32 2025
Simeon Brown, like Christopher Luxon, is a self-confessed anti-
    abortionist.

Oddly, both of them have promised not to let this part of their personal
views be reflected in any actual Government action.

Only two reasonable conclusions, really: either they are only token anti- abortionists without the courage of their convictions, or, like those US Supreme Court judges during their appointment hearings, they are lying.

Neither one really reflects well on them as moral leaders.

Not odd at all, simple integrity in representing their constituents. Perhaps you don't know how people with moral courage think, in fact I am sure you don't.

Only two reasonable conclusions, really: either they are only token anti- >abortionists without the courage of their convictions, or, like those US >Supreme Court judges during their appointment hearings, they are lying. Neither are reasonable conclusions and see above for the actual truth.

Neither one really reflects well on them as moral leaders.
    Nonsensical political rhetoric.

You ignore the fact that issues such as abortion are considered by
most if not all our political parties to be a personal choice, not
part of party policy. It is the party who exercises power in
Parliament, not individuals. Having an avowed anti-abortionist as
    Health Minister makes no difference.
