• NZ First Is Not Woke, No Way!

Winston Peters is rabidly anti-woke and anti-DEI. And his own party’s constitution is absolutely, totally, completely nothing to do with DEI
or wokeness in any way, shape or form <https://www.stuff.co.nz/politics/360612939/winston-peters-hits-out-after-questions-over-nz-firsts-own-diversity-policy>:

NZ First’s own constitution states that the list ranking of MPs
should be made with consideration of “the need for different
genders, social groups, ages and ethnic groups to be represented”.

Does that sound anything like “DEI” to you? Surely not! Because

Later, writing on social media, Peters claimed NZ First’s policy
was not “DEI” because the constitution did not set a target or
quota for how diverse its party should be.

Needs and wants. Of course there is a need for diversity as the country is diverse, but there is the requirement that MPs are "fit for purpose".

NZF will never say that they need a certain number of x, y and z "type" MPs on the list.
the list. What they are saying is best person for the job and they are open
    to a rainbow person.

There is a difference and sad to say may people can not understand the difference.
