Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) claimed during a recent interview that
the reason Americans survived the COVID-19 pandemic was because of illegal aliens.
AOC made the remarks during an interview with Maria Hinojosa on Latino USA while talking about the subject of illegal immigration.
“These are human beings, but they are also assets to the United States of America,” AOC said. “Now, when I move to the economic case, I want to say
first that, yes, it is fraught, you know, because it is painful to see sometimes people only talk about the economic case because we’re more than
just a labor force. We’re more than just a people to be exploited.”
Ocasio-Cortez said that people who vote on the issue of illegal immigration
are not compassionate and do not see the “humanity” in people.
“And so if you want to be hard-nosed about it, understand that America’s immigration force and our community of immigrants, including and especially
the millions of undocumented people in this country, are why America has prospered, especially why we survived the COVID-19 pandemic,” she claimed.
“And for all of the people who cast a vote based on grocery prices and inflation, if you think your groceries are expensive now, wait until the
farms are empty,” she said. “If you think houses are expensive now, wait
until there’s no one building them.”
The socialist lawmaker claimed that America not accepting illegal aliens into the country was “the definition of cutting off your nose to spite your face.”

Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett, responding to reports that the Trump administration is considering dividend payments to Americans derived from savings created by the Department of Government Efficiency project, stated of the federal government, "We are not in the business of giving out money," although she had championed the idea when proposed by Democrats.
"We're thinking about giving 20% back to the American citizens and 20% back
to pay down debt," President Trump said on Wednesday at the FII Priority
summit in Miami.
"He's not the one who had anything to do with the $1200 refunds that people
had during the midst of COVID. That was done by a Democratic House and Democratic Senate," she claimed to ABC News, referring to the COVID stimulus checks of the CARES Act that Trump indeed signed into law. "Right now, what they're going to do is say, 'Hey, we want to give you a refund but Congress won't let us.' Because they already know that there's just no money for
that."
"The only reason that those refunds came before was because we were living in different times. This was a time in which, hopefully, we won't ever go
through again. We had a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic. The bad part is that I don't know if it's once in a lifetime because we know that Ebola, unfortunately, was detected right here in New York recently, and if we
continue down this road of getting rid of sciences or deciding that we don't want to rely on experts as it relates to what they're telling us to do, or we don't want to deal with vaccines and medicine in this country, then we may be facing not only our next pandemic, but our next, two, three or four pandemics because of their incompetence."
The reports of the Ebola virus in New York turned out to be false.
"So, no," she stated. "We are not in the business of giving out money, and honestly, I don't know what $5,000 will do for you."
ABC News: "President Trump says he likes the idea of giving some
of the savings from DOGE back to Americans as kind of a dividend.
Would you support that?"

money, and honestly, I don't know what $5,000 will do for... pic.twitter.com/16y41bsNtd

Yet speaking on "The Shade Room" last fall and acknowledging she still had outstanding student loans, Crockett said, "God, if you're listening, we're still waiting on our student loans forgiveness." She added later of the stimulus checks sent by Democrats, as part of the American Rescue Plan:
"You'd better thank the Democrats for them doggone stimmy checks. That is my message." Speaking of child tax credits, "It was about kind of taking care of people, which is what Democrats do. In addition, you got other stimmy checks that came from -- Joe (Biden) signed the other ones, y'all ... Joe did sign more stimmy into law."

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu offered “condolences” for the death of a knife- wielding attacker, sparking backlash online.
An off-duty police officer killed who police said was an attempted stabber during an altercation in a Chick-fil-A on Boylston Street in Boston on Saturday. The attacker tried to stab two people before he was shot.
Wu addressed the situation in remarks on Saturday, offering her “condolences” over the death of the knife-wielding man.
“My condolences and all of our thoughts are with family of the individual
whose life has been lost,” Wu said at the start of her remarks during a press conference.
Police said the knife attacker was shot after two people ran inside the restaurant being chased by the man with the knife. An off-duty officer inside the restaurant told the man to drop his knife. The man refused, and the
officer shot him. The man later died at a hospital.
Wu’s comments sparked backlash online after an account on X called
“Bostonians Against Mayor Wu” posted a clip of her remarks online.

“How exactly did Boston vote for this again? I lived in the Back Bay area. It was one of the safest parts of the city. And she’s offering condolences????” Fox News contributor Joe Concha said.
Entrepreneur Joe Lonsdale said Wu’s comments exemplified deeper issues within the Democratic Party.
“When you vote for the far left, it’s unequivocally a vote for protecting criminals first,” Lonsdale posted. “Progressive-D is a vote for the massive grift machine that weaponizes empathy and naive people to plunder, and hates everything great and noble and successful about our civilization.”
Democrat New York city council member Robert Holden said his “party has lost the plot” over Wu’s remarks.
“Democrats have become the party of criminals. Here’s the mayor of Boston offering condolences to the criminal who was trying to stab multiple people
and refused to drop his weapon when ordered by an off-duty cop,” Holden
posted. “My party has lost the plot — this is madness.”
