• What Did You Watch? 2025-03-04 (Tuesday)

From Ubiquitous@21:1/5 to All on Wed Mar 5 04:30:41 2025
    I watched:

THE STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH:
Kinda long, but bit all the right notes. As an added bonus, we got to see the Dems make fools of themselves.

    What did you watch?

    --
"The media and our friends in the Democrat Party kept saying we needed new legislation to secure the border -- but it turned out that all we really
    needed was a new president"

Despite yesterday being usually a "half-day", again TV wasn't my focus,
as I was distracted with work, and a new video game on my iPad (which, ironically, I'm not totally satisfied with - it feels like another bait-and-switch from the ads - but which is still addictive).

    So, yesterday was just soaps:

soaps: DOOL - Inexplicably, Joy is still in town (basically just because
the writers wanted her to be) and will likely turn out to be pregnant
(didn't they literally *just* do this storyline with Sophia?!!), which Stephanie overhears at the end of the ep - I guess we know which baby
Johnny & Chanel are going to adopt!! Also, both Alex and Joy ask to work
at Titan. Xander and Philip try to pitch old man Shin on their DiMera
    takeover plans.
GH - In what should be a shock to no one, dummy Willow invites both
Nina and Carly to dinner to tell them she's moving in with Drew - Carly
pitches the expected fit, which drives Willow away, and then it's
revealed that the whole thing was a choreographed plan by Nina and
Carly(?!). Drew reveals his blackmail info to Portia. It looks like
Lucas and Brad are once again kaput over Brad's "lies". Dante discusses
his grief, and interactions with Brook Lynn and Lulu, with Cody. Emma -
who might be one of the more annoying characters on this show (which is
really something when the show sports Carly, Kristina and Lois &
Olivia!) - is suddenly revealed to be a Chemistry whiz (when did this
happen?!) when Anna pitches to Maxie that Emma should be an intern at Deception; Emma is thinking it over, with Gio encouraging her. Lulu
breaks into Martin Gray's hotel room, with Maxie coerced into being the "lookout", to look for evidence on Valentin - but when Martin returns,
and Lulu tries to distract him, Lulu spills Martin's notes on the floor,
and discovers from the notes that Dante has a son he doesn't know about.
(I couldn't tell if the notes named Gio, or Brook Lynn, or not.)

    And that was it.

I was wondering what happened to Willow and Xander in yesterday's recap.
    Looks like they're back. :-)

    What did you watch?

This is a two day catch-up.

    I watched:

Watson - "Patient Question Mark" - I didn't give this episode of House
my full attention, but as usual House had his team go into the patient's
house to investigate and find out the real truth so they could provide
    medical care.

Mayfair Witches - "The Innocents" - I think this might have been the
season finale. And yep, they basically retconned Lasher from murderer
    to misunderstood nice guy.

Matlock - "Friends" - Episode 9 from January. Almost pure background
noise. It didn't help that I started this episode in January, then just
picked up where I left off.

Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+) - "Heaven's Half Hour" and "Optics" -
The first two episodes of the new season. I don't have much to say
    about it, especially without spoilers.

He recognized unpasteurized camel milk from cell phone video footage
and concluded brucellosis. Those kind and loving Amish people, whom the
mother had concluded were rejecting and shunning her, were absurd.

Watson was in the middle of the countryside. The kid's having breathing difficulty, which is an emergency that requires immediate attention. He
orders the mother to drive real fast and take him to Pittsburgh!

That 6-lane divided highway across a great plane must be computer
generated. It's perfectly tangent all the way to the horizon.

Pittsburgh is in the mountains. Idiots.

Because camels are too tall to get it past their eyes so they settle for
just getting it up to their tits

Better, worse, or the same, as the Netflix incarnation?

This is the first Hi-Ho show that I stopped watching while HH was still in
    it.

Slightly worse. But it was only the first two episodes. They were
setting up the new season. I expect it to pick up.

I'm almost tempted to say not much happened. But there was a huge
spoiler that happened that was central to the first episode.
