It is with great joy in my heart that I say Justin Trudeau is finally
NOT our Prime Minister any more.
His duly chosen successor - chosen by the Liberal Party only - became
the new Prime Minister moments ago.

The video shows Mark Carney's swearing in as PM. (The shortish
grey-haired woman who also signs documents is Mary Simon, our Governor-General.) As you'll see, the PM-designate has to make three
separate paragraphs worth of declarations in both English and French
before he can sign the book that says officially that he is PM. (I'm
sure the ceremony has changed over the years; until well after WW2, English-speaking PMs rarely spoke more than a few words of French.)
The rumours are very strong to the effect that a widely-demanded federal election will be called within the next few days. I fervently hope that
Carney will set a new record for shortest regime of a Prime Minister in Canadian history but we'll have to see what voters decide on that front.
There were plenty of clues that Trudeau would be horrible but the
majority of voters (myself very much excluded) fell for his schtick so
maybe Carney will fool them again....
I have no idea what the future holds for Trudeau but I passionately hope
to never see or hear him again. Unquestionably the worst PM we've ever
had! Having said that, I feel sure his buddies in the Liberal Party will
have set up some kind of sinecure for him even though he was the most singularly unqualified national leader we've ever had. (The only jobs
he's ever had were teaching high school drama part time and teaching snowboarding.)
