• CNN Destroys Newsom

From BTR1701@21:1/5 to All on Sun Mar 23 21:19:28 2025
In preparation for his presidential run, Newsom has lately been running away from all the lunatic 'progressive' policies he has championed for the last decade or so.

After claiming on his podcast that 'no one in my office has ever used the term LatinX', CNN put together a compilation of Newsom himself using the term repeatedly.

If he'll lie directly to you on camera...

There's a reason I call him "Governor Empty Suit".

Is he less vacuous than Kamala Harris? Well, yes, but that's an insanely
    low bar to clear.

If this is the best the Democrats can do, they are really and truly screwed.

What kind of idiot is Newsom? Did he really imagine that no one would
find those clips and use them against him? Or does he think hypocrisy is
such a standard behaviour by a politician that no one will be bothered
by it when it is brought to their attention?

Mind you, Mark Carney has stolen some key pieces of Pierre Poilievre's
platform and the media is failing to notice that Mark Carney's platform
had Poilievre's fingerprints all over them.

I remember reading an article early in 2014 looking ahead at the 2016 Republican primary where the consensus of several pundits was that Jeb
Bush was going to be the 2016 nominee and there were really no other
credible contenders. As it turned out though, there were 16 contestants
for the nomination and the winner was Trump. I don't remember if Jeb
even stayed in it until the end.

I'm hoping that the current thinking that Newsom is the Democratic
front-runner is proven just as wrong as predictions of Jeb Bush being
the 2016 Republican nominee for President. Or maybe I'm not. If Newsom
is such a bald-faced liar, maybe it's better that he be the nominee just
so that the Republicans crush him on Election Day 2028 rather than face
    a more credible candidate.

Yes. And though the practice doesn't hurt Trump, it'll sink Newsom.

And good riddance, right? You must be SO peeved about Newsom abandoning
    - or rather PRETENDING to abandon - his former uber-woke positions.

I think he's so used to being protected by the press in California that he thinks he can say stuff like that and they'll just go along with it.

Yep - the pledge about GST exemption on sale of homes was front page
in our morning paper today though much to my amazement it wasn't
mentioned that the limit on the pledge was about 75% of the average
new home cost in Vancouver and Toronto (which have the highest housing
prices in Canada). My son bought an 800 sq ft condo last year - wonder
if he's wondering if he should have waited...

Even if they don't surely the GOP understands the concept of "attack
