• [OT] Gaza wakes up

From Rhino@21:1/5 to All on Wed Mar 26 22:29:24 2025
It seems that (some) Gazans have had all the Hamas they're willing to
take. Despite a very real risk of fatal retaliation by Hamas, these
people were out by the hundreds cursing Hamas and demanding an end to
    the war with Israel.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxtHywMLUoQ [3 minutes]

I hope these demonstrations triple in size every day until Hamas finally
"reads the room" and disbands itself. Probably too much to hope for but
a guy can dream can't he?

All the pro-Hamas desmonstrators have moved to college campuses here in the
    US.

The leaders of those demonstrations will probably be lined up
    against a wall and shot...

Mahmoud Kahlil was in the process of being deported but hasn't left the
country yet pending court proceedings. Have any other pro-Palestinians
    actually been deported?

I think we figured that out.

That said, the "campers" at my Alma Mater didn't VOLUNTARILY disband
their encampment (which I say SHOULD have been forcibly done before
graduation exercises since the encampment was 50 yards at most from
the graduates' march from their dressing area to the site of the
exercises) July 8th which was of course nearly a month after the
ceremonies. (It was also close by Hillel House - no gold star for
guessing which group the campers terrified)

When the pro-Hamas crowd was demonstrating on the Avenue Road bridge
over the 401, one small but critical fact slipped into one report that I
saw: the overpass ran between two Jewish neighbourhoods (or one Jewish neighbourhood separated by the 401). Pretty much everyone ignored that
fact and every media outlet ignored the distress this must have caused
    the people in the neighbourhood.

Imagine being Jewish and see pro-Hamas demonstrators through your
windows and then watching police bringing them coffee and doughnuts when
they should have been arresting them for blocking a public road!

Yow! That's a pretty major Toronto intersection.

And I agree with you on the snacks.
