    What did you watch?

    I watched:

Cube Zero (blu-ray) 2004 Canadian sci-fi movie and prequel to "Cube."
Both "Cube" and "Cube Zero" (although the details aren't revealed until
the prequel) are set in a futuristic totalitarian society that wipes
people's memories then throws them into in a giant cube made up of
smaller cube shaped rooms. Some of the rooms are safe to enter, but many
others contain elaborate deathtraps. The prequel has a group of random
people being put in the cube and trying to solve its' puzzles so they
can escape, but it also shows the inner workings of the people behind
the scenes running the cube, with a focus on two button pushers
observing the people inside the cube.

Cube (blu-ray) 1997 Canadian sci-fi movie about a group of random people including a pre-Stargate David Hewelett and a pre-Star Trek Nicole de
Boer who wake up in a giant cube and no memory of how they got there.
They must try to move from room to room within the cube to escape, but
some of the rooms contain hidden death traps.

Escape Room (blu-ray) 2019 movie about a group of random people who
think they are entering a contest involving solving an escape room, but
they quickly learn the escape room is really a series of different death
traps they need to solve in order to move to the next death trap.

    SPOILERS

The movie ends with two of the people surviving and escaping to safety.
The movie then flash forwards six months with one of them saying she's
located the headquarters of the people behind the escape room and vowing
to go there to put an end to it all. But it's quickly revealed the
escape room people are well aware of these plans and are ready for them.

Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (blu-ray) 2021 sequel which picks
up where the first movie ended with the two survivors trying to track
down the evil Escape Room company. But the escape room people are ready
for them and put them in a new escape situation along with other people
who previously beat the escape room. I hadn't watched this since seeing
it in the theater and didn't remember it all that well. The disc had
two options, theatrical cut and extended cut. I went for the extended
cut, which I assumed would just be a few longer scenes. As it turns out
this was a completely reedited movie. The extended cut adds two new characters, not in the theatrical cut, a totally different beginning and
a totally different ending. And by a different ending, I mean about 20
minutes of totally different footage. The ending was completely reshot
    for the theatrical release.

Watson - "A Variant of Unknown Significance" - It's the usual suspects
when Irene Adler walks in and asks Team Watson to cure the child she
    says she had with Sherlock.

Cube Zero (blu-ray) 2004 Canadian sci-fi movie and prequel to "Cube"

    Cube (blu-ray) 1997 Canadian sci-fi movie

I really liked "Cube". There is more than one sequel, I want to say, and
I think I liked one sequel (which might have been "Cube Zero") but
    disliked the other one(?).

    Escape Room (blu-ray) 2019 movie

This is, I believe, a Lionsgate flick, so it was locked up by Starz for
years and years. I only got to see it about a year ago, 5 years after it
    was released.

Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (blu-ray) 2021 sequel which picks
up where the first movie ended

See above. I have never seen this one, as I am pretty sure it's locked
up by Starz. If it follows the pattern, I won't be seeing this one until 2026... :/

I saw the beginning of that, probably after NCIS?, And it looked promising enough. I tried to find it to watch the whole thing, but it didn’t seem to
be anywhere, except Paramount+ and behind the pay wall.

Yeah, there's Cube 2: Hypercube. I know I saw it when it first came
out, but I don't remember if it was good or not. As I recall it was a
bit more sci-fi and the cube was doing things that defied the laws of
    physics.

And a few years ago they made a Japanese remake of the original movie. I
never saw it so I can't speak to the quality.

They are both Sony movies, but yeah Starz has the sequel locked up.
If you liked the first Escape Room, then the sequel is definitely worth checking out. If it's an option I'd say probably go with the theatrical
cut, but the two versions are so different I can easily see some people preferring one over the other and I have no idea which you would prefer.

If it helps you decide, Deborah Ann Woll is in the theatrical cut, but completely removed from the extended cut. While Isabelle Fuhrman is a
new character who plays a significant role in the extended cut, but is
not in the theatrical cut. Jaims Frain also plays a significant role in
the extended cut, but is not in the theatrical cut. Honestly, if you
can just watch both cuts because they are very different.
