• Hallelujah! Spectrum Finally Offers AMC+ (and Peacock)

    From Ian J. Ball@21:1/5 to All on Tue Apr 1 14:07:56 2025
Months after the public announcement, but I got an Email just today from Spectrum touting that I, as a Spectrum subscriber, can now (finally!!)
get AMC+ (with ads :( ) through Spectrum. (I guess April 1 was the
    magic start date!)

Apparently, they now also offer "Peacock Premium" too, but I already get
that myself (I actually get "Premium Plus"), so that doesn't help me.

Anyway, AMC+ should now give me access to things I didn't have access to before, including possibly some of the Shudder!1! horror flicks.

    Yay, me!! :)

Fired up AMC+ app today. Still haven't played anything.

Went straight to Shudder section - there seem to less (horror) movies
here than you might have been lead to believe (which is why I never
subscribed to Shudder myself), though there's actually more than at
first appears if you know what to search for.

I find the AMC+ app clunky, but I've seen worse.

I do like that there's a "Live" TV section, with streams for AMC, IFC,
BBC America, and Sundance, along with FAST channels for Shudder, "AMC+"
    and The Walking Dead.

I stopped watching BBC America entirely, given the lack of British
    television. IFC lacks independent movies.

Yes - those channels have walked away from the founding missions. But I
still appreciate that the AMC+ app has access to all of these channels
in one place, and tells you what they are airing currently. It promotes
just putting one of those channels on as background noise.
