• Evil Canadian aliens targetted in Trump's alien registration regulation

    From Adam H. Kerman@21:1/5 to All on Fri Apr 11 18:16:17 2025
I don't understand why systems tracking visa entries and exits aren't sufficient for alien registration, but Trump is requiring every alien in
the country legally and illegally to register with DHS.

This include Canadians with beady little eyes who winter in Florida, who
will now be subject to deportation for noncompliance and for not
    carrying papers.

    Fingerprints are required.

This is actually WWII-era law and incorporated into Immigration Act of
1952, but the complaint is Trump's failure to impose the regulation
under the Administrative Procedures Act. A judge has not blocked this.

I will no longer live in fear of getting mugged and hit on the head with
a hockey stick by an undocumented Canadian.

I've been to Chicago twice - and other parts of the US several times -
and have never once hit anyone over the head with a hockey stick ;-) Did
one of my compatriots rough you up?

I'm not sure if I'd count as "undocumented" though. I told the border
agents either that I was on vacation or that I was attending meetings, depending on the occasion, and never had any piece of paper from the
Border Patrol indicating that. All I had was my driver's license or
    passport.

We've had a few stories of Canadians who were detained for several days
when trying to cross the border. One woman crossed the border (from
Mexico) to renew her US visa and was held for a week or so before they
    let her go.

I don't pretend to understand what Trump/Homan/ICE are doing once it
gets down to individual cases. I suspect the whole bureaucracy is in a
turmoil as they try to understand just what is to be done for all the
cases that AREN'T straight-forward cases of illegals sneaking over the
border. I'll bet they've got very general directives to hold or deport
EVERYONE that isn't a US citizen and those directives aren't
sufficiently nuanced to handle other situations.

It's not their beady eyes that are the problem. It's their flapping heads!

We make maple syrup in the US too. If it's on the sidewalk, there's no
way of knowing its country of origin.

But only Canadians secrete maple syrup from their bodies and use it as an ambush weapon to take down their prey.

It's a day ending in a "y", so we get another complete reversal from the
Trump administration. Today, 4/25/2025, the Trump administration stated
in court that as a temporary measure, all those student visas revoked in
which the administration claimed there had been anti-Israel activity are
being restored until the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System
is changed, which I believe is similar to the system they want Canadians wintering in the United States to use.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew9NsYOwhxY https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/immigration/3391874/trump-restores-visas-foreign-students-anti-israel-activities/

Nothing to do with Mahmoud Khalil, no longer a student but a permanent
resident (green card holder) having married an American. A green card is
a visa; Trump was trying to revoke his green card.

I bet you don't get $ 1 million/year to do that at the Chicago United
    Center either....but I'll bet you'd like to!

(Not counting one hour in O'Hare where I had to get between terminals
in under an hour - I made it my baggage didn't - on a Atlanta /
Chicago / Winnipeg flight I've never been to Chicago. But I did have
enough time to see the statue of Eddie O'Hare who won a Medal of Honor
at Midway - I knew before I went his name and figured he'd done
something notable but didn't know what but the plate at the base of
    his statue told the tale)
