• Murdoch Mysteries. Was tonight (14-Apr-2025) the end? (no spoiler)

From danny burstein@21:1/5 to All on Tue Apr 15 02:15:20 2025
It certainly looked like it could be a phase out,

    but.....

it was vague enough that it might continue.

The next two weeks are pre-empted 'cuz Hockey and
    then the Canadian election.

Not finding anything definitve in searches.

    Thanks

Did you search wikipedia? In their entry of MM episodes, this was the
22nd and last episode of the season. >https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Murdoch_Mysteries_episodes#Season_18_(2024%E2%80%932025)

Alas, it doesn't have any info about renewal or cancellation.

I have to say this past season was generally low budget
with many of the characters just phoning it in...

    Thanks

You'd have to keep checking the CBC website for news of that.

It did give them a chance to showcase Effie's and Miss Cherry's lives a >little more, along with the characters of the Starlight Club.

I still don't trust the coroner...

The program used to have a reasonable presence on Twitter
where you could communicate with them. That ended about
    a year ago..

I wrote to Shaftesbury a couple of years ago
with a plot suggestion which would have used
another Canadian actress who had, in fact, worked
alongside Yannick Bisson. It would have been
a perfect role for Deanne Bray who co-starred
with him back in "Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye".

    Never heard back from them....

With good reason. The producers probably never even read it. For legal reasons it was likely screened out by some intern or 3rd-party mail reading service. People involved with making TV shows purposely avoid reading anything from
fans that contain plot or character suggestions because they don't want to be sued down the road by those same fans who claim they 'stole' their ideas without paying them.

The only exception to this used to be STAR TREK TNG, which accepted spec scripts from fans with the possibility they could be used as an episode if
they were good enough. The episode "Yesterday's Enterprise" was a fan-written spec script.

Gosh, I haven't heard of that show in years. I really liked it.

underatood.. But my note (I wasn't clear in my
post here..) was simply of the type "I have an
    idea... what's your procedure/who should I submit
    it to?" form.

one of the secondary cable chennels is rerunning it,
    but since they're pushing it 5 days/week, it's already
in the fifth or so set of repeats...

    (Admit it. You loved Levi...)

ah, I also see it's being carried on Prime Video.

hmm, a casual search found numerous copies of
at least some episodes readily available...

And here I thought it was the only good script Brandon Bragga ever wrote.

A friend of mine submitted a script to them and they produced it, but they never acknowledged or paid him for it.
