    There's a reason I've only entered the US once in the past 5 years (OK
    the COVID lockdown was a big part of it but other stuff too especially
    in the last 4-5 months) with the single exception being for my aunt's
    wake.

    (My father - and aunt of course - grew up in Whatcom Co, WA which is
    the border county just S of the US border between Vancouver, BC and
    Seattle, WA. Not counting the legalities of crossing the border it's
    about 1/2 hour from Canada - and my father expected when I turned 21
    I'd take up US citizenship but when I was 19 Canada dropped the voting
    age from 21 -> 18 so I immediately registered to vote and did - which disqualified me from US citizenship. I've heard the legislation has
    changed since then but at my present age what's the point when it
    would be only for me not for my children and would simply complicate
    my life legally - best to maintain the status quo)
