• [OT] Uber messes up again

From Rhino@21:1/5 to All on Fri Apr 25 22:20:16 2025
    Uber charged a woman $789 for a trip of 0.03km (100 ft.) in a town she'd
never been in. She fought the charge and Uber responded by blocking her
use of the app. Surprisingly, the bank took steps to give her money back
    so she's not out-of-pocket.

By the way, the town she allegedly visited is spelled "Curtis" in the
subtitles but should be spelled "Courtice" (it is *pronounced* the same
as "Curtis"). Courtice is close to Mosport, a major race track I have
visited a number of times in my yout'.

    A bank isn't evil?

I wish they had explained that. Normally, the bank's posture on this
would be "it wasn't our fault so we're not making this right". I'd love
to know what made them change their minds in this case.

Only if it isn't Bank of America.

BoA is the worst I’ve ever dealt with, but Wells Fargo is certainly
    extremely evil.

I don't think I ever had any issues with WF.
