Ooooooo I hope that a) this series is produced, b) that they
don't screw it up, and c) it's shown someplace that I can
actually *see* it (or can buy it on DVD).

The books were excellent! The only thing that bummed me out
about them is that Philip Kerr died before a book that
gave Bernie a proper ending (living happily ever after or
    not).

I highly recommend the books to anyone interested in the
history of that era and/or very good mysteries.

Robin, who hasn't seen anyone so excited about a news
    write-up in a
    looooong time. :-)

    :)

I *really* liked the Bernie book series!

I used to talk about the books with my neighbor (who is German)
and made her laugh with all of the old slang that Kerr included
in the stories. Some of it she didn't know, and others she
remembered her father saying when she was a young'un.

The details about the history and Berlin (as well as other
cities and countries Bernie hid out in) was like catnip to
me and the mysteries themselves were well-plotted.

I'm hoping Volker Kutscher's Inspector Gereon Rath seroes set
around the same timeline are anywhere near as good. I'm waiting
to start those until I can collect the entire series and
    binge them as time permits.

Thanks Robin! Your news clip made my morning!

Nyssa, who is more excited about this news than she is
about how the Stanley Cup plaoffs are going (her team is
probably going to be eliminated on Wednesday night)
