A better way to get good subtitles is to go to any of the many sites
that specialize in subtitles. Just use your favourite search engine to
search on: Happy Together subtitles English

If that doesn't work, try: Schastliyy Vmeste subtitles English

I haven't done those specific searches myself but I've done comparable
searches for other series or movies and have usually got decent subtitles.

The other thing you'll need to know is how to add the subtitle to the
bottom of the screen. That's not hard either but the exact technique is different for each movie player. If you can't figure it out by trial and
error, see if your movie player has a help option or go to YouTube and
search on: add subtitles to [name of your movie player]

That should make it possible to watch the show with comprehensible
subtitles. I should note that some movie players, like VLC, even let you
choose the colour of the text, the font, font size, and position of the subtitles; you can even add a coloured background between the subtitle
and the show to prevent the problem of white subtitles on a white
background. (I watched the Russian film Ivan the Terrible once and a LOT
of the subtitles, which were hard-coded in the film itself, were white
on a white background, i.e. invisible.)

I already copied the transcript into google translate
and didn't get a meaningful result. The optional
subtitles on screen are the same.

The speech recognition of english itself into english
subtitles on youtube has been poor, it would be worse
with a translation from another language.


It's too bad that comedy is rarely translated into
english, comedy has to be the most universal art
