• Warren Buffet takes early retirement

    From Adam H. Kerman@21:1/5 to All on Sun May 4 15:29:51 2025
At a shareholders' meeting 5/3/2025, Warren Buffet announced that he's
retiring at the end of 2025. Berkshire Hathaway vice president Greg
Abel, who has been running portions of the company for years, was
designated as successor. Abel hasn't been managing insurance nor
directing where the enormous piles of cash go, so he'll take that over.

Buffet gave Abel the ultimate vote of confidence, by saying ne's keeping
    his cash in the company.

Abel was not told in advance. Hahahahaha

An "early retirement" at, what?, 90?!! ;)

Early retirement prior to death. He'll be over 95 at the end of the
year. He probably still has time to found an all-new mega holding company.

Now someone needs to keep track of him and see if he disappears into an >underground bunker. It Zuck also goes to his Hawaiian redoubt, then we know >the shit's about to hit the fan.

The one I'm watching is... to see if Carlos Ghosn suddenly
sneaks out of his modest little abode in Beirut...

(There's a *great* and resourceful account on Twitter
called @LebanonJets, which is "Tracking aircraft in & out of #Beirut #Lebanon... whoever, whenever & wherever they fly"

I've periodically asked them about Ghosn's jet... they're
replied they're actually in his neighborhood and are
    watching his home...)

How can he afford to retire?! He's only got $147billion ... that's
barely enough to buy two packets of butter and a box of eggs these
    days. :-(
