Multi-day catch-up here (I don't know how many! I don't think I've done
one of these since Sunday...).
Mostly, I've watched soaps since my last WDYW? post.
soaps: DOOL - Xander beats Philip to a bloody pulp, nearly killing him -
in revenge! Philip sort of throws Sarah under the bus. Alex gets
Stephanie's trashy manuscript to Kate to review/edit, but does this
before Stephanie pleads with Alex to drop shopping it! (Oops!) The show >continues to annoy me in writing people I like out (I think Rafe just >disappeared off the show without as much as a goodbye!) and bringing on
new people I don't care - the latest is (Nu)Gabi's daughter Ari (as a
child, Ari was a blonde - now she's full-on Latina played by Marissa >Reyes!!). I am hoping, though, that Ari will effectively replace
NuSophia on the show, as I don't like NuSophia at all here.
GH - As the divorce/custody hearing for Willow's kids nears, Carly
reverts to evil bitch form and she and Nina come to blows (honestly, I
was hoping Nina would just kill Carly!). It looks like they have already >recast Michael (after publicly announcing months ago that they had "no
plans to recast the part"! makes my hopeful that Y&R will do the same
with Summer Newman after publicly announcing the same!). Curtis fishes
for info from Drew and gets Drew to admit that he is blackmailing
Portia. Drew has Tracy arrested after framing her for drugging him. Lulu
gets closer to proving that Gio is Brook Lynn's son. The Nurses Ball
begins, with Nina forced to co-host the "Red Carpet Show" with Drew -
there were some good bits in here.
On Monday, I put "Wild Cards" and "Family Law" (on the All DEAD! CW!!)
on as background noise. I payed no attention to "Wild Cards", but I
actually mostly watched "Family Law" - it makes me sad how old Jewel
Staite looks now. :( Also, they try to ruin this show by including
Lauren Holly! but luckily she was in very few scenes in the epie.
Genelle Williams is also in the cast of this show. Anyway, they kind of
play "Family Law" as funny/wacky, with Staite's character seeming
permanently exasperated.
Last night, I put the "Chicago" shows on - they were airing their season >finales:
Chicago Med - I was floored when Rachel DiPillo showed up in this
episode! She literally hasn't acted since 2018 when she left this show
at the start of season #4! but I guess she's shown up in a few episodes
in the current season (10) of "Med" that I did not know about! I wonder
if DiPillo is poised to rejoin this show, at least as a recurring character.
Chicago Fire - Contrived malarkey in which the captain played by Dermot >Mulroney is accused of murder!! and Severide had to clear his name. Bah.
Chicago PD - I swear - every season finale of this show I have ever seen
is the same - they are always "Voight episodes", and in every single one
of them some corrupt higher up in Chicago's PD is always trying to shut
down Voight's Intelligence unit! In this one, Voight takes care of the >problem by having the higher up executed in front of a bunch of fellow
cops!! Wow. At least they're not getting away from the "Voight is really
a bad guy" origin story!... I reiterate again, though - Burgess (Marina >Squerciati) cannot carry this show alone! They need another hottie in
the cast ASAP!... Anyway, at the end, Burgess and Ruzek get married. [roll]

Fringe S2E20 'Brown Betty'.
Walter gets _really_ stoned just before Olivia drops her niece Ella off
with Astrid at the lab. Walter tells a story.
Interestingly, during this musical episode, the two regular cast members
of Fringe (2008) who have the most Broadway musical experience do not
ever sing. Blair Brown (Nina) has had singing roles in Broadway
productions of "The Threepenny Opera" and "Cabaret." And Michael
Cerveris (The Observer/September) is better-known as a Broadway leading
man than as a television or film actor; he has had lead roles in
Broadway musicals such as The Who's "Tommy," "Titanic," "Assassins,"
"Sweeney Todd," "Lovemusik," and "Evita"; was nominated for Tonys for
all but one of these; and won a Tony for "Assassins." In 2015, Cerveris
won another Tony Award, this time for the musical "Fun Home."
