Thumbs up. Amazing how prescient Rod Serling was. Of course Hitler had
just been dead for 15 years back then so it was fresh in most
grown-ups' memories. It's a shame we have to learn the same lessons all
    over again.

Yes, unless we erase our borders and stand aside as millions of people illegally flood into the country, we're the equivalent of Hitler.

    Right-o, nutbag!

America is apparently the only country on earth that's not allowed to control its borders-- or even *have* borders, for that matter-- upon pain of being labeled 'racist Hitlers'.

I wouldn't go that far - Justin Trudeau got criticized for this though
in my opinion any immigration system that allows the majority of
immigrants (not even including illegals) to come from two countries is
broken. (In Canada it's 35% from China, 25% from India)

I'd prefer a 10% limit from any one country - with the current rates
that just encourages ethnic ghettoes - which need not be impoverished.
The south side of Richmond, BC is a prime example of what I mean where
MOST shops have bilingual English / Chinese signs and if it's only one
language on the sign it's Chinese. Fortunately for me that's the
opposite side of Vancouver - and it's been nearly 2 years since I had
to go anywhere in Richmond besides the airport.

I dunno - I've heard similar things being said of European countries
    within the last decade.

The whole Brexit referendum was PRIMARILY a referendum on immigration
as it was well known that of all EU countries Germany and Britain were
the countries most preferred by illegals.

The UK largely objected to Poles moving there, obviously not illegal immigration. But most of the immigration was from the British Empire or
former Empire, regardless of whether they are still in the Commonwealth
or ever were. Just like in France in which Arabs were from Algeria and
Tunisia. Algeria had been a colony that was later annexed into France.

I thought I had made it clear that I was talking about illegals.

Bottom line is that if someone enters the country and outstays their
visa - particularly if the evidence (for instance a paycheck stub)
points to their intent to stay - they should be in on the next boat
    out.

Preferably a very very slow boat oat that won't arrive at their
homeland for a long time - they don't deserve a fast trip home.

I have no problem if they enter legally as my daughter did when she
emigrated to the UK 11 years ago. It was a long process considerably
slower than arriving from France via the Channel.

It's not clear to me what how Brexit is an answer to that.

Ok. In or out of the EU, they should be able to deport an illegal alien.
