Sorry to hear that Robin. I know how tough it can be when our parents
end up needing full time care even if they fully understand why. In
your mom's case I can imagine there are times where she won't
understand why she has these strangers around her. :(

previous fall, but this time she acknowledges that she needs help. Let's
hope she stays in that mindset.

Good luck with that! It seems to be the trend in my family that it's
the men who end up with mental issues as the end approaches while the
women either die suddenly (heart attack, motor vehicle crash for ex.)
or die VERY old but fully cognizant till the end.

Sometimes my daughter (who lives with me) thinks I'm losing it though
it tends to be that I'm not always paying attention to her when she
thinks I am and my hearing is not what it was. These days I often say
things to reinforce for her that I am actually listening closely to
her (for instance if she's talking about the dog, I would mention him
by name)

popular in the comics so that wasn't a good basis for a show.
That said I'll have to at least sample it as it's in my wheelhouse
(superhero Genre, Marvel).

Most of my family has made it at least to 80 except for my mother who
was the pedestrian in an auto-pedestrian collision at 75 and my chain
smoking grandfather who died of lung cancer at 71 (when I was 14 so
that totally killed any appeal of tobacco for me!) My father packed in
at 79 but everybody else made 80+
