From Ubiquitous@21:1/5 to All on Sat Jul 12 04:30:41 2025
    I watched:

    SUPERMAN:
Wow, I was not disappointed! I have no idea why the marketing
department seemed to be trying their best to sink it. BTW, James Gun's
brother needs to shut his big mouth. There was NOTHING political about
this film, so I don't why he was claiming otherwise.

After a visit from a contractor neighbor, in which we 100% determined
that the leak affecting both of our places was from the unit above mine,
and not from my unit, I mostly plugged away at work stuff (getting ready
for Fall semester already!) pretty much all day (yeah, I took breaks,
but it was pretty steady all day!!).

So, all I got through were soaps, and the new flick on LMN.

soaps: B&B (live!) - Luna's aunt rakes Luna's mother over the coals when
the mom publicly (and repeatedly!) says that she's glad Luna is dead! (I
can definitely see the heartless EVOL! mom's point on this!) Meanwhile, BitchFace Steffy blames Bill Spencer for Liam getting shot.
I skipped "live" Y&R as I am still catching up on episodes (see below).
I saw bit of "live" "Beyond the Gates", but not enough to comment.
    Y&R - On Pee+, I watched, I think Tue's and Wed's ep's of Y&R. One
was weighed down with Danny Romalotti + Cricket(!) stuff. The other was
stuff with Filis[sic!] and Cane in France, and then Sharon tries to pump Filis[sic!] for info to see if she's sold all of the dumb Newmans out to
Cane. Also, Chelsea comforts Victoria who is grieving over Cole's death.

Sidenote: Over the past few weeks, they've shown 40 year old flashbacks
of Hope (Kristian Alfonso) on DOOL, and Danny (Michael Damian) and
Cricket (Lauralee Bell) on Y&R, and I was struck by how Damian sounds
pretty much *exactly* the same as he did 40 years ago! Bell sounds
mostly the same (though her voice is less "girly" 40 years later), but
Alfonso sounds *nothing* like she did 40 years ago!! I'm going to guess
Alfonso was/is a smoker, because you cannot tell that her speaking voice
40 of years ago and her speaking voice now are even the same person!

Taste of His Own Poison (LMN) - New LMN flick.
This one was full of twists and turns, but I anticipated nearly all
of these, including the identity of the final ("boss"?!) villain at the
    end.
Gist: Nerdy teen boy (Nolen Dubec) is persistently bullied by the
HS's meathead (Dylan Kingwell) with only his petite bestie (Juliette
Hawk, who is becoming ubiquitous in Lifetime/LMN flicks lately - Hawk
has another TV flick premiering just tonight!!) to defend him.
Soon enough, the meathead bully is poisoned after stealing and
eating the nerd's sandwich. So the cops immediately suspect the nerd is
the killer. Nerd's mom (Rhonda Dent, another Lifetime semi-regular) and
her estranged husband (Jonathan Hawley Purvis) now have to try to keep
their son out of prison, for a crime he didn't commit(?! or did
he??!!...). And of course, the bully's mom (Alana Hawley Purvis - she's becoming as ubiquitous on Lifetime/LMN as Hawk: she is also in the new
TV flick premiering tonight!!) is all up in this too!
This was OK, but I certainly wouldn't rate it as among the better
LMN flicks of the past few years...

    Hey, thanks for asking!

I chipped away some at my TCM sword and sandal marathon.

MY SON, THE ZERO was untouchably terrible and I didn’t make it very far
    into it.

That’s supposed to read HERO, and I am amused at what spiel Chuck decided
to change it into. It’s also supposed to be unwatchably.

    THE MINOTAUR
This was at least good enough I made it all the way through all although it needed a lot more Minotaur and it definitely needed some nekkid nudity
which I’m betting it originally had in Italy and/or Spain.

The night before I watched ALIENS, which turned out not to be the extended
cut, even though everybody said it was the extended cut, but the length didn’t match.

I found that THUNDERBOLTS was on the Plex and I watched enough of it before
I fell asleep that I will definitely finish it.

I'm not sure why you thought this would be OK, considering it looks to
be D- Italian film from the early 1960s.

    If you mean this:

IMDb says no naked nudity. Being from 1960, I'm not surprised - would
likely need to be several years later to have that.

AI/Google tells me this won't come to Disney+ until next month, or
    possibly even Sept.

IMDb tells me that it only made $382M worldwide - for an MCU film, that
must be considered to be near "bomb" territory, so that probably means
it'll come to Disney+ later rather than sooner... :(

It was in the walls, running down a (drain) pipe, so it wasn't clear
where the water-leak was originating from, until they cut a hole in my
wall right below the ceiling - that clinched it: the water was running
down the pipe from above my ceiling! O:)

Host Ben Mankiewicz promised it was so bad. It was good. He lied.

It starts with them making the lead actress drop her robe for the crowd.
There are lots of reaction shots of them leering at her. But there are also awkward insert cuts to longshots of the crowd. It’s clearly not how it was originally intended.

And yet somehow, I finished watching it last night. I have a mixed review.
I enjoyed the first 2/3 of it quite a bit, but they definitely did not
stick the landing. And they killed the actress I like best right at the beginning :-(

I do have Plex. But I think Plex would have ads?... In any case, Disney+ usually has among the best visual signal quality, so I'd rather wait and
watch it via D+ on the OLED.

No ads on Plex that I know of.

Disney+ does a lousy presentation though.

You'd be surpirsed at how difficult it is to trace a water leak.
