TLC shows seem to be made up of...well...fat. Everything seems to be fat themed, 1000lb sisters, 1000lb best friends, and now 1000lb roomies where people are too fat to do really anything except eat. 1000-lb roommies is
TLC's new show about roommates that total up to 1000 POUNDS! One roommate
says she doesn’t want to die, but then she's eating fried chicken in her bed.
Another can barely walk. And yet… the chicken wings keep coming. Let’s dive into ep 1 of 1000-lb roommate where two women navigate food addiction,
health complications, and their friendship — all while trying to lose weight before it’s too late.

Who watches these, and why? Are they watching to point and laugh? Is it
a kind of real-life body horror?

I tried to watch one episode of My 600-Pound Life once, and I just
couldn't. It was too sad and horrifying. Dr. Now is a saint, but who is watching these shows?

I don’t watch the entire channel

To me the fat programming isn't even the most repulsive, whoever
pitched that "Dr. Pimple Popper" concept should be drawn and quartered.
    Even the promos are unbearable.

I got into the "90 Day Fiance" shows some several years ago but haven't
watched them in a long time.

Now I’m curious as if I even get the learning channel. Activating guide
    show all channels mode.

L O L. There it is on slot 42 and they are having marathon of a show called VIRGINS.

Mother of God. I turned on TLC and the first thing I get is an ad for fat
    women meowing “amazing graceâ€

I switched back to a gunsmoke rerun post taste.

Yeah I noticed Virgins on the onscreen guide, I guess it's
self-explanatory. I didn't have the courage to check it out but
apparently they think it's the Next Big Thing.

As sordid and voyeuristic as My 500 Lb. Life and 90 Day Fiance were
    they did become big hits.

IKR? Discovery is just as bad.

I don't watch the entire channel

I only watch Welcome To Plathville, but might give up on the new season
    coming out this month.
