    What did you watch?

I recorded a bunch of stuff, but my DVR has been continuously rebooting for about eight hours now. I suspect this is the end.

You probably are unable to - But if that is the case, you can just
physically take the box down to the nearest Cox store, and trade it in
    for a new cable/DVR box.

If you are willing to take the pain, you may want to call Cox up and
find out what your options are - they may allow you to mail the box in
for a new one, or if you're really lucky they may send a tech out to
change out boxes, but they're likely to charge you for the home visit in
    that case.

I think you are forgetting that Anim can't leave his home and the Post

That’s mostly to keep me from voting.

The ex will take me to the Cox store. She’d probably like that. But not
    while it’s 114°F out there.

It’s been blinking for 16 hours now, self rebooting, I’ve unplugged it half a dozen times, and tried software reboot via the app. All no joy.

I think I’ll start a freestanding thread about this. All avenues open to me seem to require surrendering the DVR, which means the loss of all recorded programming which means there’s no reason to keep the service.

    Thanks for the advice!

Hmmm - I deal with Shaw (major cable company and ISP in Canada) and
shortly after their merger with Rogers they changed my router (at no
cost to me). I had to get a new internet cable (e.g. the one from my
machine to the router - but I did a "speedtest" just now and it
reports 1601.6 mbps down, 162.5 up which given I seldom upload big
files (a 10mb upload is big by my standards, whereas videos can often
    be 1gb or more)

If you're convinced all your cables from the outside of your home to
your competer are good, it could well be a defect between your ISP"S
nearest local node and where it enters your house.

I had a similar problem in 2023/24 and eventually that's what my ISP
did - I had to buy a new CAT6 cable for the last 3 feet from router to
my machine and as I said it was a PITA for an extended but everything
    is sweet now.

It’s a single uninterrupted line of coax that goes from outside the house
to the back of the modem. Hard for much to go wrong there. And whenever
they work on it, they don’t even ring the bell because it’s always in the street.
