I believe that you run into celebrities.

I'm having trouble suspending disbelief that there's a mall that's still
    open that's worth shopping at.

Did you have a bit of a conversation?

It's the Del Amo Mall in Torrance. It's actually doing pretty good in this era where most malls are deserted and creepy. For one thing, it has a really nice food court with some sit-down restaurants branching off from it, one of which is a BBQ place I enjoy.

Did you have a bit of a conversation?

No, he clocked that I recognized him and smiled and I nodded back. That was
    it.

Believe it or not they do exist. Now the one closest to me is dead.
Last thing I know it was used for was for filming STRANGER THINGS, but
we have a couple of busy malls north of here. There are others to the
west but I've not been to them in decades so I don't know how they are
    doing.

Yeah, that sounds like the successful malls around here.

That would be my likely approach on recognizing any celebs. Only ran
into a few here and didn't approach them as I'm not sure what I would
say that they haven't heard a million times before. (John Smoltz of
the Atlanta Braves and Ray Wise. Both times I was in a grocery store
when I saw them.) Would likely run into many more if I lived on the
south side of Atlanta since that is closer to the big studios.

Just yesterday there was a Clickbait on the Facebook that declared Fashion Square Mall (that your buddy Jake Paul helped BLM burn down) is now
considered one of the top 10 malls in the country or something. I need to
make a pilgrimage there to look at Apple watches.

I had the exact same experience with Catherine Hicks from Star Trek Four
the Whale One. Look, smile, nod of recognition. I will note that her smile
    was dazzling.

My friend Dianne Kay calls it “the look“
She spots it long before I do. She’ll say “uh oh the look“ as one person recognizes her and other people look to see where they are looking, and suddenly we are surrounded by people watching us. I have no idea what
mechanism causes a viral response where people in a store, all look to see
what everybody else is looking at.

Does it feature any of the worst fast food restaurants in AZ?

Well, there’s a food court that was mostly empty the last time I went
    there. So anything is possible.
