DOCTOR WHO:
"Warriors' Gate".
A strange creature forces its way into the TARDIS, steering it to a white void occupied only by the ruins of an old building and a spaceship. This empty space is a gateway to the past and future. The creature responsible
for taking them there is Biroc, a member of the enslaved race known as the Tharil. The gateway offers the only exit from E-Space, but the void is contracting. Are the Fourth Doctor and his friends fated to spend eternity
in E-Space? What final shocking revelation awaits the Doctor?
Another one I have seered in my memory.
I liked it but it was a bit muddled.

Over this past week, I've watched:
soaps: Y&R - M-Th ep's. More wheel spinning regarding Cane Ashby and the murder of Damien. The upshot? Cane has Nick and Sharon put under "house arrest" - they eventually escape, but Nick gets stabbed(?). Meanwhile,
Cane's creepy assistant (he has a name like "Harrison" or something) is trapped by Victor and Chance into admitting that he planted the murder
weapon on Nick.
B&B - "Live" most weekdays. I think it's clear now that the "Liam
has a brain tumor, but it was miraculously "cured" at the last minute"
thing was all a giant scam to bilk Bill Spencer out of a cool $mil - certainly John and Bridget seem to be figuring this out.
DOOL - M-Th's ep's. Holly and Ari's kidnapping: Ari tries to escape
their captivity through the air ducts, but apparently she inherited her
mom's big butt! because Ari gets trapped in the air ducts. Then the
warehouse falls on her or something! But she's all right. The kidnapper
is nabbed by the cops, but won't talk. As agreed, Doug III is going to
leave town (after being told off by Holly and esp. Ari). Johnny's trial
is about to begin: EJ goes to Marlena for her to hypnotize EJ into "remembering" who shot him, but he can't remember the person's face -
from what EJ did remember (and other hints), it's very clear that
NuRachel (whom I don't like - OldRachel was much more believable as a dead-eyed child sociopath!) was the one who shot EJ.
GH - M-Th's ep's. Jason spies Britt in the airport, but is unable to
make contact - they show Britt heading to the same place in Europe the
shady professor dude's contact does, so she's clearly bankrolling(?) the shady professor dude. (Has Britt taken over Faison's criminal enterprise?!)... Drew & Willow's wedding approaches: Separately, both
Drew & Nina figure out that Willow was the one terrorizing Sasha (thru
her baby) - Nina vows to tell Willow the truth. Meanwhile, Portia
refuses to knuckle under to Drew's blackmail this time, and intends to
resign from the hospital. But Curtis stops her, intending to throw Nina
under the bus to Willow in order to save Portia. (Fri's ep should be
good - I wonder if Willow is going to *snap* and go completely nuts and
start murdering people at her wedding, now that she's gone all loony and "Dark Willow"!!)
Secrets of an Influencer (LMN) - LMN's Friday night movie.
Like Robin, I am a little confused about this flick's pedigree -
IMDb claims it was released in Sept. 2024: it looks like it went to
Lifetime Movie Club (streaming service) at this time(?). So, its U.S. TV premiere was Friday, July 25 (almost a year after it went to streaming!).
At least now I know where the one scene of a pretty girl about to
torch some tied up people from one of LMN's earlier "Sizzling Summer
Night" TV ads came from!
This flick was actually probably better than I was expecting (though
I did think the ending, with the aforementioned firebug pretty girl, was
a little weak).
It stars Kyla Nova (now on her 3rd or 4th Lifetime flick!) - she
plays Jess, a put-upon budding "marketing guru", moonlighting as a
manager(?) at a struggling inn/B&B.
Jess is obsessed with a social media "influencer" (pretty/sexy
Ashley Brinkman). Jess' boyfriend (Allen Williamson) seems to play along
with her obsession, even suggesting that Jess contact the influencer to
offer her a free stay at the inn in return for some internet influencer "promotion" of the inn/venue.
But the influencer seems to disappear near the end of her stay at
the inn. Jess becomes obsessed with this, and think it's foul play!
Wacky mystery shenanigans, including *murder*, ensue!
I did enjoy this, and correctly guessed the ID of one of the
villains. But the motive of the main 'Big Bad' mostly came out of left
field, so I wasn't sold on the ending entirely.
Before Your Father Finds Us (Lifetime) - All-grown up "Spy Kid" Alexa (Pena)Vega goes all Jason Bourne!!
PenaVega stars as the skittish over-protective mom to a 14(?)-year
old (Jaeda Lily Miller). But she has her reasons!
You see, her ex (whom she's told everyone, including her own
daughter! is "dead"), played by Tahmoh Penikett (he only seems to play baddies these days!), is actually a scary ex-special forces dude in
lockup for various nasty crimes. (And, apparently, she herself is ex-military, though I was never 100% sure if PenaVega was supposed to be ex-special ops herself - she's *tiny*, so I am skeptical!!)
When the ex-husband dude is denied parole, he goes ape-sh*t and
decides to escape prison to forcibly "reunite" his family with him.
After escaping jail, he visits the shocked daughter, and then
PenaVega's character, and at this point she's had enough with the
menacing from her ex, and grabs the daughter to hide out in a cabin the
woods until the FBI (e.g. old Canuck stalwart Lochlyn Munro) and cops
catch her escaped-con ex!
Of course, you can't keep a good, or in this case *bad*, special
forces dude down, and soon enough the ex is kidnapping boyfriends and tracking PenaVega and the daughter down!
Looks like this is going to end with a soldier-vs-soldier showdown
in the woods. But PenaVega has been preparing for this showdown for a
decade!
I'm making this sounds more exciting that it is - this is not an
"action" movie a la Stone Cold Steve Austin or Scott Adkins! But, for a Lifetime flick, this was out of their usual oeuvre, so at least it has
that going for it. And at least neither PenaVega nor the daughter are portrayed like the usual Lifetime numbskulls and are actually shown
mostly playing it smart.
I think that's it. I have had other movies and TV shows on as background noise this week, but I don't think any of that rates a mention.

The JURASSIC PARK franchise ignores this as well. The atmosphere was much more oxygenated back when those big animals were stomping around, which is one reason they were able to get so big. They'd likely suffocate if brought to life in our current atmosphere.
I watched a classic Doctor Who, "Spearhead From Space."
This is a pivotal episode, because it introduces both the autons (a
recurring monster) and the Third Doctor himself. He is a Doctor unlike
any other -- trapped on Earth, and an *action* hero as well as a
cerebral one. We also meet Liz and get a lot more information on UNIT,
but the episode's own plot is also pretty solid. It's jam-packed,
really.

LOL, that was most of them! There was a whole lot of screaming,
especially in the early years. Twisted ankles, too.
You may mean Peri. She traveled with both Five and Six, and she was
mostly eye candy for the dads, so she screamed a lot for that late in
