Doesn't seem worth the effort unless you have a specific person you
want to follow. I joined to follow one person and there doesn't seem
to be any easy way to see other stuff.
A couple of years ago, three friends of mine all moved from X to Instagram
at the same time. So I started an Instagram account just to follow them.
The next day I got an email from Google telling me that unless I gave them
my cell phone number, they were going to toss me off and banned me. I
ignored it and sure enough 72 hours later I was banned from Instagram.
Without having ever even posted. If they wanted my damn cell phone number
so badly, they should’ve asked for it when I signed up.

Where as on X I can see posts from many different people.
So on Twitter I saw posts last night about the big earthquake off the coastline of Russia and the warning about a potential tsunami hitting
Hawaii in the middle of the night. Luckily the waves were only about 7
feet high at the highest. I likely wouldn't have heard about it until
the later today if not for checking Twitter and it having that easy
discover ability.
