This is a prelude to war with Canada.

This is the first I've heard of this incident but the man who was
detained has a very authentic French-Canadian accent (his
wife/girlfriend) seems to be English-Canadian) and St. Jean sur
Richelieu, the town he comes from, is real; I've driven through it.
(It's maybe an hour south of Montreal.)

I'm pretty sure there won't be a war though. Carney is too busy trying
    to placate Trump.

Besides, I don't think we're ready for war. The official pistol of our
forces is the Sig Sauer P320 which is showing itself to be prone to "uncommanded discharges" (it fires without pulling the trigger), which
you probably saw in your own news given the large number of stories
about it of late. I expect we'll want to at least sort that out before
    we conquer you....

Yup - you've got the geography right. Last invaded by US troops in
    1775.

As for Carney and Trump I'd change "too busy trying to placate" with
"down on his knees in homage" which perhaps I'm mistaken wasn't at all
what he said he would do during the April 2025 election.
