I did do a TV week wrap-up last weekend, so I think I can do one this
    weekend.

But it's true that I'm not watching anything outside of soaps and
    Lifetime flicks right now.

But he is making a list.

My current lists involve heroes, titans, equipment, and dungeons...

    What did you watch?

We did a movie marathon last night.

WAR OF THE WORLDS - The new version on the Primes starring Ice Cube and Eva Longoria. This was terrible. The lead (Ice Cube) is not a good actor. He can play a South Central drug dealer believably enough but not much else. The
movie was done in the 'screenlife' style of UNFRIENDED and SEARCHING, where
the entire film takes place on various computer screens and apps manipulated
by Cube's DHS intel analyst character. In this version, the aliens are
invading earth to inexplicably feed on our computer data. Their arrival coincided with the DHS director's (Clark Gregg) activation of a new super-surveillance system that hoovers up data on every person on earth by the terabyte. This essentially rang the dinner bell for the aliens. Yes, it's stupid and makes no sense.

THE AMATEUR - This was a much better film. Rami Malek is a nerdy CIA tech guy whose wife goes on a trip to London and ends up murdered in a terrorist
attack. Malek decides he needs REVENGE! and blackmails the bosses on the Ops side of the house to give him the training he needs to hunt them down one at a time. Also stars Rachel Brosnahan, Julianne Nicholson, John Bernthal, and Laurence Fishburne.

READY OR NOT - Samara Weaving stars as a woman who is marrying into an old-money family that made its wealth in the board game business. She
discovers on her wedding night that each new addition to the family must play
a game as sort of family tradition. The bride or groom must draw the game to
be played at random. Most games are benign-- checkers, chess, tic-tac-toe, etc.-- but she draws Hide and Seek, which she discovers to her horror means
she hides while the rest of the family tracks her down to ritualistically murder her in service to the contract the family's patriarch made to Satan,
who is responsible for giving them their vast wealth. Will the bride manage to survive until dawn? Or will Lucifer have his prize?

What a lovely surprise for a bride. I'm sure it makes her want to be a
long time member of the family. If she survives till dawn does the
    family get dragged to hell?

Thank you. With this info, I can be satisfied in skipping it.

In this version, the aliens are
invading earth to inexplicably feed on our computer data. Their arrival coincided with the DHS director's (Clark Gregg) activation of a new super-surveillance system that hoovers up data on every person on earth by the
terabyte. This essentially rang the dinner bell for the aliens. Yes, it's stupid and makes no sense.

    What did you watch?

Just admit it, you're never going to tell us what you watch anymore. :P

I did do a TV week wrap-up last weekend, so I think I can do one this weekend.

But it's true that I'm not watching anything outside of soaps and
    Lifetime flicks right now.

OK, that reminds me of the one thing I watched yesterday that wasn’t rerun background noise. So,

    Hey, thanks for asking!

    THE JANE MYSTERIES on lifetime.

This was absolutely horrendously terrible. It’s part of a series starring
one of the lesser talented daughters from Fuller House. It was so awful. I looked on IMDb to see what the hell was being inflicted on me and even the
fans of the show give it a one.

The lead is a frumpy old woman who is contacted by an old boyfriend who
looks easily old enough to be her father and turned out to be played by
Rainbow Sun Franks! A.K.A. RSF of Stargate Atlantis SGA (the “A” stands for: ATLANTIS!).
Franks, who looks like Ford’s grandfather, wants the frumpy old woman or
FOW to solve a mystery from when they were canoodling in college or CIC and
so she puts on a black wig and nobody knows who she is. I gave up often and early.

But he is making a list.

My current lists involve heroes, titans, equipment, and dungeons...

We did a movie marathon last night.

WAR OF THE WORLDS - The new version on the Primes starring Ice Cube and Eva

Have not watched it but did see the trailer this afternoon. Looked a
bit confusing and not exactly demanding it be watched. If they are
feeding on the data then they can feed forever right? It's not like
the data gets erased when someone reads it.

THE AMATEUR - This was a much better film. Rami Malek is a nerdy CIA tech guy
whose wife goes on a trip to London and ends up murdered in a terrorist >>>> attack. Malek decides he needs REVENGE! and blackmails the bosses on the Ops

I liked this film a good deal. He doesn't deal with the bad guys in
the normal way because he's not exactly what one expects from an
    agent.

READY OR NOT - Samara Weaving stars as a woman who is marrying into an >>>> old-money family that made its wealth in the board game business. She
discovers on her wedding night that each new addition to the family must play
a game as sort of family tradition. The bride or groom must draw the game to

What a lovely surprise for a bride. I'm sure it makes her want to be a

He's been making them. I knew the movie had issues but didn't realize
just how bad the story was until watching it. I thought the only big
issue was the concept of telling a story about a guy watching the

When he was still trying to help her survive, the husband told her that the other games were just what they sounded like. Just plain old chess or tic-tac-toe. Hide and Seek was the only one that was violent and bloody. She just had the bad luck to draw the one bad card in the deck.

IIRC, I always got the impression that... SATAN!! made sure that that

Maybe in this case, but they made a point of letting us know that this was the first time it had come up in like 80 years. So if Satan is controlling the deck, he doesn't rig the game every time.

Or it's rigged to come up just often enough. If the murderous game came
up too often, the family could start fighting against it, but this way,
they've rationalized their behavior and willingly serve Satan because
they don't believe that murderous game will hit next time.

    It's... diabolical.

    I don't agree with Ian.
