Please disregard. I was having problems with Thunderbird: I couldn't
read any existing posts - it kept insisting they weren't there - and the >unsubscribe/subscribe tactic didn't work either. Then Newsgrouper
wouldn't post either - at least not immediately - although I see my
posts have FINALLY appeared now, at least a day after I posted them.
For what it's worth, I finally got Thunderbird to behave itself by
simply restarting it. After that, subscribing to newsgroups worked again
and I was able to read existing posts and write new ones.
I remain baffled by what was going on. I thought perhaps the restart had >updated Tbird but it's the exact same release I had before the restart.
