This sounded so familiar to me, I felt like I must have
seen it before, after racking my brain and multiple
internet searches, I realized it was a horror novel I read
a couple years ago:

I remember it as being a slick little horror novel in the
genre of 80s slasher movies, with enough independent
creativity to make more than just a retread of Freddy and
