The association regulating nurses and midwives in BC has fined a nurse
for tweets she made disputing the existence of genders other than male
    and female.

I wish her luck in her appeal. Jordan Peterson tried to fight a ruling
by the professional body governing psychologists and spent a lot of
money on lawyers in doing so but still lost. I believe that's a major
reason he's become anim's neighbour in Phoenix....

    What a biased media outlet.

! Trans people are protected from discrimination by laws in both B.C.
! and Canada, providing them with the right to be treated according to
! their deeply felt gender identity.

This is programming. They speak as if they were filling us in on
background, but the framing is wrong.

The source is CBC, which is notoriously "progressive" despite its
protestations of being neutral. You'll see this story covered quite
differently in, say, the National Post:

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/michael-higgins-fining-nurse-amy-hamm-93000-a-grotesque-attack-on-free-speech

Here is an article by Hamm herself, also in the National Post:

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/amy-hamm-ive-been-fired-for-my-gender-critical-views-but-im-far-from-cancelled

It will be interesting to see if her appeal is successful although I am somewhat pessimistic given what happened to Jordan Peterson.

There is a lot of rot in our institutions and a few news stories aren't
    going to change that.
