MD and I timed New Wave (part 1); it clocked in at exactly 2 hours.

A couple of songs had poor sound quality. I couldn't do anything about "Accidents Will Happen," but I decided to take the other one, "Driver's
Seat," off - it's already on the Cars Dancehall anyway. I found this
song that's just 4 seconds longer to use instead:

Will that be difficult to keep track of?

I think it'll be under control. I'm keeping track of all the song titles
on a wordpad list, and copying all the songs into a private "New Wave (complete)" playlist on YT; I already had the 6 post 1980 songs we
already posted recorded there. (I'll copy the songs over to a part 2
list later.) To find the songs posted for part 2, I'm using the "New
    comments" sort on Facebook.

Again, this came out in 1978, so it really belongs on part 1
(1977-1980). But I have to agree it's essential, just like the Ramones
song, so I'm putting it on there.

But that playlist is already public, and I can't keep changing it. Every
time I add a song, I have to cut one. No more, OK? 1981 on.

Enough of that. No more changes to part 1.

Do you HAVE to do these in chronological order?

No, but we need some way to give them structure; I try to organize some Dancehalls other ways (usually lyrical content) so they're not always
the same, but chronological is the default. Most of them are done that
way. Loosely chronological - the songs are organized by year, but I sort
the songs within a year by how they sound together.

If so we may be better off just ending it at part one.

We have over 10 songs already for part 2. I'll never get them all on
part 1, and leaving them off is not an option.

    If possible, here's one for
    Dancehall part two:

People Who Have Died / Jim Carroll https://youtu.be/9bOjc70f4p8?si=iMgyDtnAwphRKQ4b

1980 again. OK, here's one thing we can do: break 1980 across both
parts, so that some of the songs are in part 1 and some in part 2. It
will mean changing part 1 again, just after I said I wouldn't, but it
will allow for using some of the songs at the end of part 1 as the
opening of part 2 instead. I don't want to put all of 1980 onto part 2
(that's 8 songs!), but we can work that out at the end. At the least, it
means I can put Television back on now by moving one song to the
beginning of part 2. (I'm thinking Whip It.)

I'm not sure right now what to use as the end date. One New Wave list
I've looked at includes Take on Me, which is 1985, so I'd say we could
go that far into the '80s at least. And they tend to be longer songs, so
we'll need less to fill it - I'm thinking 30, and we already have more
    than 10.

If worse comes to worst, we can pillage part 2 of One-Hit Wonders; the
first half of that has a lot of new wave.

Let me know if there's room for one or two more, I can easily add them.

I went through the two lists again, looking for songs I might have
missed. As of now, part 2 has 36 songs, and runs 2-1/2 hours.

IOW, either I cut 1/2 huurs off the playlist, or we turn it into a
3-part playlist. It sounds like the latter is your preferred option. I'm
OK with that, but we do need to cut it chronologically again. I'll cut
part 2 at the end of 1983, which is about 105 minutes currently (meaning
we have room for 3-5 songs), and part 3 can be 1984-1989.

That's about it for part two, George?

I finally got it up to date and timed it; it's 3 minutes under. I'd
suggest leaving it at that, in case any part 3 suggestions have to be reassigned.

(Best video I could find, but essential, probably the only Atlanta new
wave band to have a hit in the era.)

Yeah, the sound quality's low, but the song had to go on.

I missed some of the songs you added We're up to 35 songs. Part 1 had 36
songs in 2 hours, and part 2 has 34. I'm not sure if this will fit, but
if not I'll cut something and make it fit. In any case, we're done - I
just have to curate this (cut to fit and sort).

The Dancehall has spent the past three weeks exploring the New Wave of
music in the early 1980s. You can watch and listen to the entire six
    hours here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_uEAOzPGnDGyze0vRySFZouluLqxOFbN

For your convenience we have also broken it into three 2-hour segments:

Part 1 (1977-1980) looks at the New Wave's birth, and its climb from the
fringe to the top of the charts: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_uEAOzPGnDHAjaD38PuGO9QRuIT2x5I3

Part 2 (1980-1982) the New Wave consolidates its dominance of the
charts, and redefines popular music: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_uEAOzPGnDHdqCIVWam6AQvQYgvgzmjr

By the time of Part 3 (1983-1989), New Wave was everywhere. But we have
tried to select the genre's most memorable highlights: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_uEAOzPGnDGp2LDztDU3unYQWGgOWZSW
