It was. The Warhol crew went there too.
The Doors had 3 residencies there, a week or two at a time. They were
building up to the big time. There was also a place in LA, Whiskey a Go
Go, where they did the same thing in their early days...
There are a lot of comments about Jim being sloshed all the time there.
    I did not see that...

Reading Jim Morrison's Wilderness, I hear the voice of one person, at
times even self-effacing...talking about how Elvis had a great voice at
17 while he will always have a childish nasal twang...

With Bob, with some albums, in some songs, I hear multitudes, and wonder
    who the poet really is...

It looks to me as though the photo un Under the Red Sky was taken in the
Mohave Desert...those look like the Tehachapees in the distance. In
fact, that could even be the lake bed at Edwards AFB...my Dixon
relatives lived there and had connections to NASA...

I found the desert magical, with the Joshua trees, tumbleweed and frothy expanse of tiny flowers in the spring...

Jim Morrison also loved the Mohave...
I am starting to wonder if Under the Red Sky is somehow about him... https://www.bobdylan.com/songs/under-red-sky/

Under the Red Sky is a 'Key' song...(in one line he says 'This is the
    key to the kingdom'...)

I think the "Key" songs usually have a target...

If so, who is the target, who may be 'baked into a pie?' By 1990, both
Jim and Pam Courson were dead...
