In 1979 Texas, a ragtag crew rents a backwoods cabin from an elderly
couple for a shoestring porn-film. The thoroughly retro horror flick X
reminds us that, as it ever was, the wages of sex is death, gory death.
Though it's never played for laughs, writer-director Ti West must have
smiled his way through much of this. (And, *after* watching, check the
cast credits for a witty surprise.) Recommended.
