I remember vaguely a version that came out when I was five I think.
A screechingly DULL story, on par with "Mary Poppins." Corn-ball
child-aimed morality tales. My main point is, they've had a half-dozen
of these, dozens of TV shows and movies, do we REALLY need more? There
are THOUSANDS of fables and childhood stories. DO them instead.

original Carlo Collodi story idea, which after all is public domain.
Collodi originally intended the story, which was first
published in 1881, to be a tragedy. It concluded with the
puppet's execution. Pinocchio's enemies, the Fox and the Cat
bind his arms, pass a noose around his throat, and hang him
from the branch of an oak tree.
