• WE HAVE A GHOST

From Bill Anderson@21:1/5 to All on Fri Feb 24 23:20:28 2023
It’s a ghost story, obviously — light and funny at first but not so much by the end. David Harbour is the spirit who doesn’t know exactly why he is
stuck in the attic of the old house into which mom, dad, and their two
teenage sons have just moved. There is a lot going on here, probably too
much, but I stayed engaged throughout. I was hoping for better, but I
enjoyed what I got and I recommend you have a look. It’s on Netflix.

Thanks. I think I liked it more than you, but thank god it wasn't a "horror" film. The Peele effect in motion. There's touches of Topper, Ghost Busters, and -- oddly -- ET. It struck me that the kid was playing CCR on the guitar and listened to The Doors
on his iPod. Fun movie and not my regular stomping grounds.

Interestingly, there appear to be zero IMDb 'user reviews'...

William, did you ever watch Triangle of Sadness? I’d really like to know
    what you thought of it.

Thanks, again. It's a weird comedy whose humor is more in the back of your head than guffawing from the mouth. A highly polished Robert Altman movie that tells its story in spite of itself. These aren't people that I care about although I was taken by
how they were played. Would I see it again? Not likely although I'm glad that I saw it.

Exactly. It was funny but I never laughed. I had a hard time with it — watched it in pieces over several days. I will not forget it, but I will
    never watch it again.

The captain’s dinner was unforgettable. And there are other scenes which will stick with me for a long time. I will particularly remember the
elderly couple who made their fortune selling arms with no regard to which
side should be supported. When the old lady picked up the object and asked
her husband what it was, that was the closest I came to laughing aloud.

It is a movie certainly worth watching but I think it requires a peculiar
sense of humor to enjoy it.
