Google Groups ending support for Usenet
If you work with Usenet groups in Google Groups, support for these
    groups is ending soon.

    What’s changing?
Starting on February 22, 2024, you can no longer use Google Groups (at groups.google.com) to post content to Usenet groups, subscribe to
Usenet groups, or view new Usenet content. You can continue to view and search for historical Usenet content posted before February 22, 2024 on Google Groups.

It's not "Game Over" ... you simply get the chance to play the game
properly, with a real Usnet server and a proper newsreader app, rather
than the abhorent garbage and spam / troll infested stupidity of Google
    Groups. :-)

Cheapest I see is $10 a month. Not paying that to access a handful of
    groups that are mostly dead.

There are free Usenet providers (they do require signing up for a free account): Two good examples are Eternal-September.org or Solani.org

Many newsreader apps are also free.

Is there a Usenet Reader you recommend? Also, is there a Usenet Reader
that lets you block out certain topics and individuals?

    Irish Mike

It will depends on what operating system you're using (Windows, MacOS,
iOS, Android, iOS / iPadOS, Linux, etc.) as well as which version of
them. Most proper newsreader apps will have killfile / filtering
    options, some better than others.
