Five Very Good Cat People in SF and Fantasy

One obvious way to improve humans is by combining them with cats.

I read and really liked _Forrests of the Night_. Nohar Rajasthan
    returns in _Fearful Symmetries_.

_Perry Rhodan_ has Dao-Lin-H'ay, starting somewhere around #1300,
who eventually joins the ranks of the immortals. I think she is one
of those long-serving characters in PR who have little in the way
of individual traits other than being all-around competent.

Didn't an early Flandry novel also feature a cat-like alien native
that proved quite the match for Flandry? _Ensign Flandry_?

Well, if the result looked like Nastassia Kinski, I could at least
consider that the process might be worth investigating. Although, if I
remember correctly, her character in that movie was a menace to the
people around her. That's hardly an improvement.

I read the Norstrilia collection, so I did read at least "The Ballad
    of Lost C'mell".

I had often wondered if there was a connection between her and P'gell
    from The Spirit.

Maybe not so good in John Crowley's _Beasts_

A search for "cat person plastic surgery" yields crazy pictures.

The initial letter in the names of the Underpeople indicates their base species. So C'Mell is a cat person, D'Joan was a dog person, etc.

Was P'gell a pony, pangolin, or panda?
