    I think James Nicoll reviewed this here which is what got me to read it.
    Unlike him, I thought it was too long... it could have been cut down by
    20% or so by a good editor and been a tighter and stronger book. But I
    stll enjoyed the story of a robot and his friend traversing an apocalyptic landscape after all the humans (well, most of them) were gone. The ending
    was mostly a surprise and tied everything up nicely. Occasionally I felt
    like I was in a Philip K. Dick world that had been watered down for greater realism. I liked the book but not as much as _Made Things_. I wouldn't
    give this a Hugo but I am sure there are others who would.
