Wow, I assumed he was long gone!

(This is my third attempt at sending this - I don't think Hamster
liked the umlauts (or whatever they're called) over the "a" in the
author's last name, so I changed it to a plain "a")

    Did a vehicle
    Come from somewhere out there
Just to land in the Andes?
    Was it round
And did it have a motor
    Or was it something different?
    Did a vehicle
    Fly along the mountains
And find a place to park itself
    Or did someone
    Build a place
    To leave a space
For such a thing to land?

Heh. The Student Government Association at college, for
unaccountable reasons, had "lectures" by both von Daniken
    and Velikovsky.

I saw the Velikovsky one; my impression, a crackpot, of course,
but an honest crackpot of the old school.

Von Daniken I didn't bother seeing; I've always though he
was a grifter, and a not very interesting or intelligent one.

That sort of thing used to plague me when I responded to messages with
those funny-looking quote characters and apostrophes in their titles,
but setting Usenet Text to Quoted printable (MIME) and checking the
MIME Headers box solved the problem. The is on the Options\Languages
    screen, BTW.

For umlauts, of course, another solution is to use "e" following the
    vowel: Daeniken in this case.
