    The last company that drilled that deep went bankrupt.

    Historically, only 20% of wells in the region are
    successful.

    Not sure what the late Burt Reynolds has to do with
    oil well drilling.

    I'm sure that they understand that the pressure at those depths are
    far greater than could be survived by any human, so they completely
    disregarded 100+ year old fiction when making their go no-go determination.
