Football is the world's game... but all the money in the
modern game is destroying it. It's all about the £ now,
not the skill.
Hockey is cool... plenty of goals, some fighting... and
two breaks where you can go and make the tea.
That could be next.
I don't know enough about the financial side of it, but every
business is about making money. The NHL like FIFA, UEFA, the
NFL, MLB (etc.) is geared to maximising its profits. With
football [soccer] I think it has gone beyond that to the
stage where the large amounts of money is destroying the
game. FIFA are more corrupt than the Mafia.
As for the BBC ...
The BBC are worse than the mafia! As they have a law in the UK
that means everyone with a TV has to pay the BBC money each year
regardless of whether they watch a BBC channel or not...
In regards to sport, the BBC can barely afford to show the top
sports live anymore as they squander a lot of their money on big
name presenters and bureaucracy.

If you can follow the thread, Dave brought up the BBC and I
replied... it's kind of how Usenet works.
Whilst Dave throwing a tangent in to the discussion is usually
how RADW works!
