Well, don't forget that this falls in line with Dave's anti-Catholic
rhetoric. Funny how he thinks that the Catholic Church, the Christian
Church started by St. Peter himself, somehow isn't "true" Christianity.
Depending on how you structure them, there are at least three, six, 10,
or 12 main types of "Christianity". Sub-divide them further and you get
more than 200 Christian denominations in the USA alone, and around
45,000 around the world - all with their own slightly different
beliefs, and interpretations and versions of the Bible.
And that's without including Judaism, which is based on the same
supposed origins and has similar semi-separate divisions.

Yes, you are correct. The point I was trying to make was that St.
Peter was charged by Jesus to start what was the original Christian
Church (the term Catholic meaning "universal"). I'm also aware that in
the early stages of this set-up, there were people who wanted to carry
on the tenets and beliefs of Judaism...and just add the acknowledgement
that Jesus Christ is the messiah they had been waiting for.
Dave, or anyone else for that matter, making comments regarding the
Catholic Church that go beyond disagreements on interpretation or
beliefs is being prejudicial; how can the first Christian Church not be
a "true" Christian Church? Because the Catholic Church doesn't use the
KJV Bible? That line of thinking is crazy talk.
*ALL* religions are "crazy talk". They're all just a load of complete
bovine excrement that should be well past their use-by-date in a
supposed intelligent modern society. The fact that any of them still
exist is beyond any sensible comprehension.
But if fools want to believe such nonsense preached at them by greedy
con-men in the 'church', then that's up to them, as long as they do not
go around trying to "convert" nor causing problems for any other
people. The fact that so many wars and deaths have been caused by these >supposed "good" people fighting about whose mythical superbeing is
better than someone else's mythical superbeing, simply proves that the
human race has still not reached the heights of real intelligence yet. >Especially when you consider most silly religions have a specific rule
about not harming others!!
Calling the NIV Bible, as Dave called it, "Satanic, Anti-Christian,
Humanist" is just as bad. That kind of logic is mind blowing.
It's like in my line of work...high school band director. In my state,
there are two popular schools of thought regarding ensemble tuning and
balance of characteristic sounds. They are both equally valid
approaches to getting a band to play with good sounds. However, when
you apply for a job, many schools will ask which approach you prefer to
teach. If you respond with the "wrong" method, you don't get the job.

Peter's Declaration About Jesus
Mt 16:13-20; Lk 9:18-21
27 (Lk 9:18-20) Jesus and His disciples went out into the towns
of Caesarea Philippi. On the way He asked His disciples,
"Who do men say that I am?"
28 (Mal 4:5; Mt 14:2) They answered, "John the Baptist, but some say,
Elijah; and others, one of the prophets."
29 (Jn 6:69; 11:27) He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Peter answered Him, "You are the Christ."
30 (Mt 16:20; Lk 9:21) He warned them that they should tell no one about Him.
[27] And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?
[28] And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.
[29] And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
[30] And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.

14 (Mt 14:2; Mk 6:15) They said, "Some say that You are John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
16 (Ps 42:2; Jn 11:27) Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God."
17 (Gal 1:16; Jn 1:42; 21:15-17) Jesus answered him,
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood

18 (Jn 1:42; Job 38:17) And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock

of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
20 (Mk 8:30; Lk 9:21) Then He commanded His disciples to tell no one
that He was Jesus the Christ.
[13] When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
[14] And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias;
and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
[15] He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
[16] And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
[17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is
in heaven.
[18] And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I
will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. [19] And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Mt 16:13-19; Mk 8:27-29
18 (Mt 16:13-16; Lk 11:1) As He was alone praying, His disciples were
with Him. And He asked them, "Who do the people say that I am?"
19 (Lk 9:7-8; Mt 14:2) They answered, "John the Baptist.
But some say Elijah. And others say that one of the old prophets has risen." 20 (Jn 1:49; 11:27) He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Peter answered, "The Christ of God."
[18] And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
[19] They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
[20] He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
So Horny, any rebuttal?

Falsehood!
Never said that Horny!
Here is the proof!
30 (Mt 16:20; Lk 9:21) He warned them that they should tell no one
Man, am?"
[27] And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea >>>> Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do >>>> men say that I am?

[29] And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth
and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
[30] And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.
Matthew 16:13-20
Peter's Declaration About Jesus
Mk 8:27-30; Lk 9:18-21
13 (Lk 9:18-20; Mt 8:20) When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea
Philippi, He asked His disciples, "Who do men say that I, the Son of
14 (Mt 14:2; Mk 6:15) They said, "Some say that You are John the Baptist, >>>> others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
16 (Ps 42:2; Jn 11:27) Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God."
17 (Gal 1:16; Jn 1:42; 21:15-17) Jesus answered him,
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood
has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
18 (Jn 1:42; Job 38:17) And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock
I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
19 (Mt 18:18; Isa 22:22; Jn 20:23) I will give you the keys of the kingdom >>>> of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
20 (Mk 8:30; Lk 9:21) Then He commanded His disciples to tell no one
that He was Jesus the Christ.
[13] When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his >>>> disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
[14] And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; >>>> and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
[15] He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
[16] And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the
living God.
[17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona:
for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is >>>> in heaven.
[18] And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I >>>> will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. >>>> [19] And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever
thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
[20] Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was
Jesus the Christ.
Luke 9:18-20
Peter's Declaration About Jesus
Mt 16:13-19; Mk 8:27-29
18 (Mt 16:13-16; Lk 11:1) As He was alone praying, His disciples were
with Him. And He asked them, "Who do the people say that I am?"
19 (Lk 9:7-8; Mt 14:2) They answered, "John the Baptist.
But some say Elijah. And others say that one of the old prophets has risen."
20 (Jn 1:49; 11:27) He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Peter answered, "The Christ of God."
[18] And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with >>>> him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
[19] They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others
say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
[20] He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The
Christ of God.
So Horny, any rebuttal?
This is like shooting fish in a barrel....
In your feeble attempt to discredit me, you provided the EXACT verse
where Jesus charges Peter to build and start up the Church.
Dave, at this point you should just take the "L" and go take a walk
outside. Or perhaps you would like to discuss a more relevant
verse...Exodus 20:16? You seem to break that one quite a bit.
Therefore the whole context is complex for you Horny!
You wouldn't know context if it walked up to you and handed you a
freshly minted Loonie.

There's no evidence in the Bible that Jesus was a descendant of King David.
Yes, there are two (conflicting and contradictory) lines of descent in the
Gospels from King David down to Joseph Carpenter.
But according to Christian doctrine, Jesus was conceived by Mary through
divine intervention. Joseph was not a blood relative.
Therefore, without a documented line of descent from King David to Mary (NOT
Joseph), no matter how apocryphal or inaccurate, there is no evidence that Jesus was a descendant of King David.
That said, almost all Jews probably were. There's nothing special about
being descended from a ruler of the same people a thousand years earlier.
(There's a famous piece of genealogical research that claims that it's
almost impossible for any Briton with 4 British or Irish grandparents to
NOT be a descendant of Edward III ...)

suggests that he had close relationships with several male courtiers. Evidence for his sexuality
Relationships with male courtiers
James had close relationships with George Villiers, Robert Carr, and
Esmé Stuart.
Behavior
James' behavior towards his favorites was considered unusual and
suggestive even by the standards of his time.
Letters
James' letters to Carr and Buckingham reveal sexual frustration and
passion.
Context
It's important to consider that the terms "gay" or "bisexual" were not
in use in the 16th and 17th centuries. At the time, sexuality was not
used to construct identities as it is today.

There's no evidence in the Bible that Jesus was a descendant of
King David.
Exuse us , are you saying the Holy Bible is a liar?
Yes, there are two (conflicting and contradictory) lines of descent
in the Gospels from King David down to Joseph Carpenter.
But according to Christian doctrine, Jesus was conceived by Mary
through divine intervention. Joseph was not a blood relative.
Therefore, without a documented line of descent from King David to
Mary (NOT Joseph), no matter how apocryphal or inaccurate, there is
no evidence that Jesus was a descendant of King David.
That said, almost all Jews probably were. There's nothing special
about being descended from a ruler of the same people a thousand
years earlier.
So you are saying the Gospels of Matthew and Luke lie.
Lies?? Maybe not .... but they ARE just stories, handed down from one

Matthew 1:1-17
The Genealogy of Jesus Christ
Lk 3:23-38
1 (Ge 22:18; Isa 11:1; Ro 1:3) The book of the genealogy
of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the son of Abraham:
2 (Ge 25:26; Ac 7:8) Abraham was the father of Isaac,
Isaac the father of Jacob,
and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers.
3 (Ge 46:12; 38:29-30) Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron,
and Hezron the father of Ram.
4 Ram was the father of Amminadab,
Amminadab the father of Nahshon,
and Nahshon the father of Salmon.
5 (Heb 11:31; Jas 2:25) Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab,
Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth,
and Obed the father of Jesse.
6 (1Sa 16:1; 17:12) Jesse was the father of David the king.
David the king was the father of Solomon,
by her who had been the wife of Uriah.
7 Solomon was the father of Rehoboam,
Rehoboam the father of Abijah,
and Abijah the father of Asa.
8 (1Ch 3:11) Asa was the father of Jehoshaphat,
Jehoshaphat the father of Joram,
and Joram the father of Uzziah.
9 Uzziah was the father of Jotham,
Jotham the father of Ahaz,
and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah.
10 Hezekiah was the father of Manasseh,
Manasseh the father of Amon,
and Amon the father of Josiah.
11 (Jer 27:20; Da 1:2) Josiah was the father of Jeconiah
and his brothers about the time they were exiled to Babylon.
12 (1Ch 3:17; Ezr 3:2) And after they were brought to Babylon,
Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel,
and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel.
13 Zerubbabel was the father of Abiud,
Abiud the father of Eliakim,
and Eliakim the father of Azor.
14 Azor was the father of Zadok,
Zadok the father of Akim,
and Akim the father of Eliud.
15 Eliud was the father of Eleazar,
Eleazar the father of Matthan,
and Matthan the father of Jacob.
16 (Mt 27:17; Lk 3:23) And Jacob was the father of Joseph,
the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the exile to Babylon are fourteen generations,
and from the exile in Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.

15 Eliud was the father of Eleazar,

16 (Mt 27:17; Lk 3:23) And Jacob was the father of Joseph,
the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, >>> from David until the exile to Babylon are fourteen generations,
and from the exile in Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.
Oh!! No!! Binky, which bit of The Bible do we believe??

I think the Book 6 you're thinking of is really a short story, "Young >>Zaphod Plays it Safe". I've got the entire "Galaxy..." collection in

collection which is 50% non fiction articles, and a second half that
includes the unfinished draft of what was either going to be the third Dirk Gently novel or the sixth Hitchhikers book, depending on which way DNA was facing when he reworked it, and also the aforementioned "Young Zaphod" and another short story based on a sketch by DNA and Graham Chapman, "The
Private Life of Genghis Khan", included because it features the HH
character Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged.
In true HitchHiker Trilogy fashion, there is also a DNA estate-approved
actual 6th novel, "And Another Thing," by Irish author Eoin Colfer. It's
not bad, and it does its best to rescue the overall storyline from the
bleak outlook of "Mostly Harmless." And it's quite amusing. But it's not "Adams at his best" amusing.

whatever information was told to her by the first person to tell her; if
you are the second person to tell her something, and it is not what the

her when she was little, told her the sky was purple, and that was
