I think its better than the first one. Although the "cartoon"
episode concerns me a little...as if that one is going to be
another "Babies in Space" type of story.
I will be happy to be proven otherwise, though.

Many UK and US shows and movies are dubbed into the local languages in >various countries or regions. It's really weird seeing characters like
Doctor Who or Basil Fawlty jabbering away in German, French, Italian,
etc.
Even sillier, to appease the "Politically Correct" whiners, some are
also dubbed in native people's languages (despite the fact that those
ethnic people speak and understand English perfectly well and that many
of them can't even understand or speak their native language!). For
example, Disney has made versions of movies like "The Lion King",
"Shrek", and "Frozen" re-dubbed in Maori and a version of Star Wars
dubbed into Navajo (<https://youtu.be/zcYn-_gK_98>). The Maori TV
channel in New Zealand plays a few re-dubbed shows, for example
"Spongebob Squarepants" dubbed into Maori
(<https://youtu.be/3Tjc_ZEF5ac>).

Living puppets has been done on audio for Doctor Who by Big Finish ("The
Scorchies") but not cartoons.
The classic "cartoons interacting with humans" examples are, of course, "Who
Framed Roger Rabbit?" and "Space Jam" - where a toon disguised himself as
the Fourth Doctor (probably) - and "Looney Tunes: Back in Action" - which
has a cameo by a Dalek.
Movie figures come to life has been done in live action a couple of times
("The Purple Rose of Cairo" and "The Last Action Hero" spring to mind.
Most recently there was a crossover episode between "Star Trek: Strange New
Worlds" (live action) and "Star Trek: Lower Decks" (animated) but in that case the cartoon characters crossed a portal as live action humans.

Roger Rabbit claims to be the first, and probably was the first *full
length* combination, but there were many animated / live-action
combinations before that, such as Dick Van Dyke dancing with panimated >penguins in the original 1964 "Mary Poppins" and of course the old Ray >Harryhausen stop-motion / live-action movies.
There are many others with combined animation and live-action. The
Smurfs movies starring the Doogie Howser actor and CGI Smurfs
interacting in modern day New York, but they were absolutely awful. The >recent(ish) "Tom & Jerry" movie was okay, although it would have been
much better as fully animated.
These days CGI makes combining animated and live-action characters much >easier and many movies are doing it.
Movie figures come to life has been done in live action a couple of times

Most recently there was a crossover episode between "Star Trek: Strange New >> Worlds" (live action) and "Star Trek: Lower Decks" (animated) but in that >> case the cartoon characters crossed a portal as live action humans.
One episode of "The Simpsons" had a live-action remake of the opening credits. ><https://youtu.be/khIx5EB74vY> There has also been a couple of specials
done (one for IMAX cinemas) where the 2D cartoon Simpsons cross over
into the 3D real world, becoming 3D CGI characters in the transition.
Lazy Disney is doing "live action" remakes of many of their animated
movies, some like "The Lion King" are actually fully CGI, so not really
live action at all.

Among others: Pinocchio, and horror movies like "Chucky", "Annabelle", >"M3GAN". :-)
"The Happy Time Murders" is set in a world where humans and living
puppets co-exist.
There have also been a couple of movies / TV show episodes where the
looney baddie has strung up real people to become puppets (although in
some cases those people were killed first, so technically they're "dead >puppets").

Nobody has to pay any streamer for any tv show; everything can be
downloaded from the web. If somebody can use a news reader they can find
and download a show. In the case of Doctor Who a vpn will get anyone
access to the Iplayer - nearly all of dr who since 1963 is available at
the click of a mouse. It is not rocket science. Disney can go f*** >themselves.

The worst thing about Disney+ (and other streaming services) is
the adverts. It would normally be €14.99 a month to subscribe to
Disney+ here in Ireland without adverts, which is a joke. They
are always running offers though, currently there's a €1.99 a
month offer on, which goes to show how much of a failure their
pricing model actually is. If you can give four months of your
service away for €1.99 - and do something similar in six months
time - clearly you have overpriced your basic service. There
should be a happy medium somewhere.

The original puppet-based Thunderbirds is great and much
better than the modern CGI animated Thunderbirds series with
its Politically Correct silliness.

Both are infinitely better than the awful live-action movie directed by
Star Trek's Jonathan Frakes (who knew nothing about Thunderbirds,
watched a couple of episode, then thought he knew it all ... and >unsurprisingly proved he didn't know anything!!).
There is also the Japanese-made "Thunderbirds 2086" animated series,
which is just awful and weird, and bares no resemblence to Gerry
Anderson's original.
A lot of the crew who made Gerry Anderson's special effects and models
went on to be part of other great show and movies like Star Wars, Star
Trek movies, etc.
Gerry Anderson never really wanted to make puppet shows, but they are
his best work. His few live-action shows are pretty bad.

My favourite Gerry Anderson show was "Captain Scarlet and the
Mysterons"... the puppet version obviously, I didn't watch any
of the animated remake. (I didn't want to spoil my memories!)
Although I did like the Big Finish audios, but the original
Captain Scarlet show was just brilliant.
And you'll never guess who my favourite Captain Scarlet
character was... yes folks, Captain Blue! What a man! Better
than Troy Tempest or any of those boring Tracys.

The original Captain Scarlet series was an okay, although I found it
tended to be a bit too strange. Joe 90 was a bit boring (although I've
never rewatched, so only saw it as a little kid) as were the older
Gerry Anderson shows. Stingray was a bit better, although also had some >strange episodes. Thunderbirds was always my favourite of Gerry
Anderson's shows. Supercar wasn't bad either.
There was a planned Thunderbirds resurrection to be released in 2005 of
the original Thunderbirds using puppets and models, but only a trailer
was made <https://youtu.be/pTiy9begunM>. The computer animation series >"Thunderbirds Are Go" was made instead - being made by a New Zealand >animation company probably partly explains why it wasn't very good.
There is also Firestorm, which was a new Gerry Anderson puppet and
models series which looked quite good, but only a couple of minisodes
were made before it seemed to stop. ><https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-yhwYMoRfk> ><https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z77q-Mh80nI>

any of the animated remake. (I didn't want to spoil my
memories!) Although I did like the Big Finish audios, but
the original Captain Scarlet show was just brilliant.
And you'll never guess who my favourite Captain Scarlet
character was... yes folks, Captain Blue! What a man! Better
than Troy Tempest or any of those boring Tracys.

The original Captain Scarlet series was an okay, although I
found it tended to be a bit too strange.

IIRC, F.A.B. isn't an abbreviation for anything. It's just a
code word the Tracy's used.

I lied... it was actually UFO. I meant of the Gerry Anderson
puppet shows, as that is what I think of when it comes to Gerry
Anderson shows.

I knew there had to be a reason.

Gerry Anderson was said to look surprised when asked this and replied "Fab,

Yep. In terms of Thunderbirds "F.A.B." didn't really mean anything. It
was simply used as a 'hip' catchphrase and a shortened version of
'fabulous' which was popular in the 1960s.
But, "F.A.B." was used actually previously by radio operators in World
War II, where it meant "'Fully Acknowledged Broadcast", so possibly
that is the original source of the phrase Gerry Anderson used without
fully realising it.

Roger that.
That sounds plausible but I've never heard that and I can't find any
evidence to support it on the Web - and it's an awkward phrase, feels a bit contrived - I think this may be a myth.

F.A.B.
Not to be confused with the audio story, or the spy organisation.

F.A.B. is the codeword used by International Rescue agents as a means of >acknowledgement, serving a similar purpose to "Roger". Although
pronounced as individual letters, it does not stand for anything. The >codeword was suggested by Grandma Tracy as a short, precise, and unique >sounding term of acknowledgement, and based it off 'fabulous', which had
been a much used phrase long ago[1].

I don't need to. I'm a geek, I know things. F.A.B. in the
context of "Thunderbirds" is not an abbreviation.

Could well be an internet myth or made up by Thunderbirds fans long
before the Internet was available.
